Thanks. Bolts through drilled holes is OK with me. Cleaner. I believe Spenser actually said that to me when I was first talking to him. Someone else said you want clamps for a little flex, that bolts might shear off under stress, but I kinda doubt that. Also it has that vertical positioning flange inside that will keep it from shifting.

That's all I need. Don't worry about more photos and enjoy your trip.

I came from a canopy and RTT setup. I believe most of us in here did or maybe even had bed bars and an RTT. Go out and do some camping in your canopy and RTT setup and you’ll soon find out why we ended going with a wedge camper instead.

Your setup is great as far as it goes. I considered something like that before I found a used Flippac. I have gotten used to being able to stand up in the back, heat the interior up in the morning just by making coffee, sitting in my chair inside in the rain, not having to crawl in and out when it's buggy, etc. I would prefer side windows but I'll take the longer full-length doors to smaller side windows that open. BTW every wedge camper besides SP and Alu-Cab offers opening side windows.

Did they throw in some free tooth whitening with the triple camper setup? :)

Has anyone built another smaller bed below the wedge bed platform? My wife and I are looking at these wedge campers but want to future proof it for kids and was thinking of like a smaller bed platform under the main platform (so like up next to the cab) for a small child. Just curious. I haven't gone through all 148 pages of this thread yet, lol.

We will be looking to solve this as well for our two boys. We have not picked up our SP yet. We have kids disco beds (camp bunk bed stretchers) that I cut down by a few inches to fit in the back. My potential issue is head height clearance as I’m using with a decked system. Without the decked I think it would be awesome.

Ya for planning purposes it would be me/wife up top, kid(s) right below up next to the cab and dog on his own bed near the tailgate. Sounds like a packed house. I'm sure just a standard plywood bed platform would be fine just wondering if someones done it.

I've got benches built that will ultimately be able to be converted to a lower bunk if needed.

Mine will have a lower sleeping platform as well. Not for others, but for me where I want to stealth camp and therefore can't pop up the top. It can definitely be done. Search out the sleeping platform in truck canopy thread, you'll see all kinds of weird and wonderful solutions to problems you didn't know you had.

Honestly with kids I'd think seriously about putting them in a tent outside. The space isn't huge and to have 3-4 people plus dog in there, that's going to be pretty cramped and a headache. Probably ok for the few times with bad weather but wouldn't want to deal with that every time out. You'll be constantly moving gear around to make room.

Hmmm idk, a wedge camper would be the last choice on my list camping with a family and dog. I’m sure it’s been done though

If we had family and dog to take with us.. I think we'd stick to our RTT.. but put in on a shell. Use the RTT for the adults, the shell for the kids, and the anex for the doggos. Luckily, its just the wife and I.

So this is pretty much the use case I have for the kids down below. Most trips we will take our ground tent and use it, but for times where a) We have a quick overnight somewhere on a road trip or; b) We want to bug out quickly or early on a Sunday or last night of a trip or; c) We arrive super late to our campsite and would rather avoid setup until the morning, and lastly; d) Weather...it would be great to have this ability

I’d say a little under 1.5”. I shoved my tape measure in there and gap is so small hard to get good reading. Around 1.5 to 1.25”

I cant get over how nice this camper is.
Incredible build quality. Just have to wait and see if it will withstand the test of time.
