    Happy belated Easter, bitches!

I will purposely not carry a fire extinguisher and if any of you ever see my truck on fire, please just slowly walk away from it and look the other way:spy:

I keep a small one behind the seat just to show I tried (and pops/gpops were both FF) ... saw a lot of mulch fires last summer with the drought but those were just stomp outs/let someone know. not tryin to be a hero.

    Morning, peoplefaces.
Sunday Funday meant fixing my washer. Actually went faster than I thought; including time spent with the power washer it was under 3 hours from start to finish.

After 10000 sheet metal screws I could get at the rear of the unit
    Parts.jpg

Drum assembly is only held in by two springs and two shocks, plus some wiring and rubber boots
    Rear.jpg

And then held together with about 20 lag screws that you can't get a drill onto
    Drum out.jpg

    Drum apart.jpg

Old bearings. The seal had failed and let water in and it wrecked the larger inner bearing. The smaller outer unit was still ok, but they come as a set and I wasn't about to do this all over again in 6 months, lol.
    Bearings.jpg

Back side of the tub was pretty nasty after 10+ years of laundry gunge.
    Gunge.jpg

But a few minutes with the power washer cleaned it up nicely.
    Power wash.jpg

Reassembly went pretty smoothly, actually, except that getting the drum assembly rehung in the shell was a b*tch and a half. It weighs a ton, between the counterweights and the motor.
But I gave it a quick test run out the side door and she spins smooth and quiet again now

Anyone know a shop in the area that does the ECGS bushing swap? Or if anyone has the tool, let me know - I could be convinced to give it a whirl.

Ideally a shop that can do an alignment/tire stuff too. My drivers front wheel is out of alignment and the tire is smoked - want to swap it for the spare and do an alignment too, I can just do that locally easily though. Hoping it's just the alignment and ball joints or something isn't shot. But I am getting some vibes and I think it might be the needle bearing, I haven't been gentle on this thing

No, it just goes for everything I own. I am heavily insured so if it's burning... smells like a new truck to me!

If I remember correctly, if it goes away in 4WD, that's what it is.

I tried replacing an axle seal on the other side and by the time I got it in it was just as bad as the one that came out so I had Drew do the needle bearing. In cases where I don't already know my limits, I find out!

I'm gonna remember that one! I like my truck but honestly, nothing I have is dear to me... it's all replaceable. Except maybe my boats.. they are hard to find right now but if one burnt I'd be getting a pretty big down payment!

I mean, everything I've got is well-insured too, but dealing with the insurance company is always a pain.

Yeah, my philosophy better applies to toys than my daily driver I guess. If my sled catches on fire then yee haw man, get the marshmellows and if you put it out with a fire extinguisher I will beat you down, but I guess the truck would be a hassle. If a sled or boat burns... well, I FUCKING LOVE SHOPPING.

If anyone knows someone selling a 12 - 14 ft utility trailer (or a 10 if it's dirt cheap) that isn't super far from the Northwest corner of MA, let me know. Seems like a year ago I could find them all over the place, now everyone wants stupid money. I was hoping to be under the $1000 mark. Everything I'm finding is priced so high I might as well just buy new (which I might do).

I have a friend with a dump trailer and another with a 19 ft car hauler, but I'm helping my mom clear out a house and fix up some of the property so it'd be nice to have something smaller to haul the lawn tractor and ATV out and other stuff back. I figure at the 12 - 14 ft mark I can find something that has a 1 ton payload but is at or under the 1000 lb mark empty so I could comfortably pull it behind the ATV. That'd make it easier to store out back, getting the truck behind the house is a little tight considering I should avoid driving a 5000 lb vehicle over the septic system.

I don't suppose a 4x8 would do you any good? I have a really really nice Maine Trailer brand utility trailer that I have been meaning to put new rubber on and get the lights working. It was my dads, he bought it new maybe 15 years ago, it's the most rugged and overbuilt 4x8 trailer I have seen, but it's been neglected in my yard.

Yeah, used equipment has spiked in the last couple of months. I think they know people've got that stimmy $$ on top of their tax returns so they're asking more for everything. I'd been toying with getting a used equipment trailer this year but the stuff that's normally $1000 is up around $1800-2000 so I'll probably just wait.

I can't replicate in 4WD right now, I notice it most on the highway at 55-60

I'm going to at least get the alignment and probably do a balance first and see if that takes care of it. That has to be done anyway, so might as well do that and see if that takes care of it! But I have a feeling I might still need to do the ECGS bushing, but we'll see! o_O

Thanks, but I'm shooting for a little bigger. I'm trying to stop driving the ATV and lawn tractor into the bed of the truck.

Yeah, I'm often seeing $1200-$1500 used for a simple 14 ft 2990 GVW trailer. At that point, I'm barely saving anything over new.

I know a guy who moved from a 7x14 ft to an 18 ft landscape trailer for his side business and he offered me the 14 for $1000 a while back. I think it was a 7000 lb GVW with new brakes and tires. I regret not buying it.

I mean, anything that fits in a pickup bed would work pretty good with this trailer, but I get it. I'd want bigger too. It was ok for the Tacoma but towing that small of a trailer with the full size was kinda odd. Definitely a 2000lb capacity trailer, I think it's 2880lb capacity if I recall.
