It’s just easier to have everything run through the Wisconsin Tacoma thread and for events we have the Wisconsin event page. Some states have 30-40 threads and then over half the people can’t find it or didn’t see events going on.

    That’s just my opinion.

The Wisconsin thread is more a general BS , here’s what I got, thinking about doing a meet up, who needs beers, coms check, and did I mention beers ...... catch all.

it seems to work for now. Usually from the Wisconsin Tacoma thread pm’s get sent out and details for events are hashed out or a link is posted to find more information.

Can we start a thread that gives advice on how to use and search threads?

We did do that. See, the system works. :)

Seriously, though; if you're looking for a comment from awhile back, the search feature works great! I was goofing around earlier and found comments I posted in 2018 by using keywords. Having multiple threads would have actually made it harder to find them.

I know what you’re saying but it was a ghost town in here not to long ago. Also now @Thatbassguy has control of the event page it actually gets updated.

At the top of the “Event” page
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wisconsin-area-events-with-new-poll.621460/page-95
is usually the newest event info and also post #1 on page 1 is updated with current outing info.

Just so you know we aren’t bashing your idea. It’s Just from what everyone said before it was almost overwhelming with all the threads for Wisconsin. It seems confusing and yes, miss a day , miss a lot!
In 2015 I hardly saw anyone on the Wisconsin threads.

As always make another thread if you want it’s just trying to keep traffic going on the thread or it becomes dormant and no one will check in. (My opinion, not a fact but I stayed at 40 Holiday inn express’s last year!)
    Lol

if you don’t log in for a few days you’ll be 3 pages behind.

@Tim v I feel you. I haven't been able to be as active on the forum this year, and trying to grasp a conversation thread across a dozen new pages is tricky. My job is to modernize technology, so I have to fight the urge to try and recommend change on Tacomaworld.

That said, I'd prefer a central point for group trips and planning. The second Wisconsin trip thread is nice, but it's real easy to miss an event. Maybe the person organizing the event can put the detail forum post in their signature? Or continue to edit a single post with details and updates? Or pin it/set an announcement, if that's a thing with this software?

Ultimately I just try to stay active enough that people tag me in the invites and it shows up in my Alerts. :)

I try to change the headline to reflect whatever event is coming up soon. I can also change the OP anytime to include details or maybe refer to the post # that has the details if it's an event someone else plans.

Starting a new thread for every event would be even worse, because we might never see it unless we were tagged or following the OP. I didn't know about the bonfire thread for months until I randomly came across it.

We do have the Midwest sub-forum for threads related to specific topics, although some of those topics should be discussed in other sub-forums anyway.

I really don't think starting a new Wisconsin BS thread every year is going to make anything easier to find. In fact, it would be harder if you weren't sure which year the conversation took place. The search feature works great if you use it.

People dont follow the Midwest forum, they follow the few mw threads they care about. Posting new threads people are gonna miss them.. especially if they aren’t on tw every day.

Its the same deal with the tuning threads. It’s way easier to find stuff if its all in one thread.. people have tried to separate it but then you end up following 20 threads and everyone just mainly uses one

If you want multiple threads, you can go talk to yourself in them like gq would do lol

Exactly! This is why I think 2 Wisconsin threads is plenty!

Lol! No thank you! I'll stick with the threads we have.

    FYI ....

I asked the man , the myth , the legend TCbob about a Regional Wisconsin sticky
    7C780B4F-4E79-4F59-B121-95D2FA07F7D7.jpg
he told me there’s not enough traffic to have one and said use the Midwest one.

again like @Shellshock and others said the Midwest forum is just that. It’s a cluster of states and nothing local. If you type Wisconsin in the search you will find this page.
    Wisconsin Tacomas!
    But......
If you wanna start another thread go ahead. I’m always looking at posts from all over. I always run across something I know my wife won’t let me buy because I bought ammo, house payment, kid needs a car, help daughter pay for college....etc, etc!
    :ballchain::crapstorm::lalala:

Can you imagine a Wisconsin Regional area with 100+ new threads.......
