It's mainly that I see cases where I'll need to lug both things at once and don't really want to do the dance of putting one thing in the bed, hooking the trailer up for the other, and repeating the song and dance to unload and reload to bring back home.

The more I think about it, I don't think I could make a 10 work either. A 12x6 would just barely because I could put one thing sideways.

 

Agreed. It was a pain in the dick when I totaled my truck. Took a lot of arguing and I finally got them to give me something fair for the truck but it was a big time suck. And, once they total the vehicle, they put you on a time clock for the rental. Not something I'd want to do again anytime soon...

Right, and that's for something straightforward like having it totaled in an accident. I imagine something that could be deliberate/fraud like a fire would be twice the headache.

 

Exactly. Other driver was cited and everything, insurance was still a pain in the ass. I learned a lot about how insurance works during that whole fiasco... Damn vultures!

I should be doing the alignment and tire shenanigans this week. Once that’s done if I still get vibes I’ll let you know. I won’t lie I’m considering having a shop do it, paying for convenience I have so much shite with housework and whatnot I might pay for convenience on this one. We’ll see - I’ll let you know once the tires are done and if I still think I need to do it.

Pretty much, though I'd probably be most upset if my bikes were lost..supply and demand type thing plus a couple of them I don't think I would ever part with. My house..might almost be better off to throw a match to it as long as I get the cats out first!!

So annoying. The other insurance when I got hit a few years ago was so quick to believe him even though the pictures clearly showed he hit the side of my truck versus me rear ending him as he tried to claim. Easier for them to try and get out of it though.

Grrrr...I think I need a new job. Not happy about it but at least I need to look at comparable stuff in my field and see if there's anything better.

I know why folks stay on this thread/page/etc/site because we are all friends and learn here.
So my question is to the folks who no longer own Toyota's.
It seems to me that most of you went with the Blue Oval rather than the Bowtie, I'm just curious why?

 

Try doing two in a year. I didn’t find out the Mazda was a total loss until Day 23-24.

I added the new car replacement option after the Tacoma and it paid big time. I ended up with MSRP+sales tax on the Mazda. They fought me on destination, and eventually settled for half but paid for the remote start I installed when I bought it. I think my net gain was like $4,500 or so. It was the only reason we could justify the JGC at the time. (No comments from the peanut gallery on that one).

 

My dad is a Chevy guy, I had one also and liked it well enough. For the half tons, I don’t like how the bow ties drive compared to the Fords. I wasn’t interested in buying a half ton Ram.
When I started looking at 3/4 ton trucks, I still didn’t want a Ram at the time although after seeing and riding in one, i’m still not keen on the 6.4 with MDS but they ride nice and the interiors are nice as well. Initially, I bought a gasser. In that market, the Ford 6.2 had the Chevy 6.0 beat 6 ways to Sunday and I liked the Ford cabin better than the others. When it comes to a diesel, I’d gladly own a Duramax but I still like Ford’s cabin better and Ford’s diesel is the top of the food chain for power because, why not.
