    Who is in your insurance network? You'll probably be needing to see a specialist, and most of them don't accept appointments without provider referral. Finding someone in your network first is best (and cheapest) starting point.

    I would ask your PCP and get a referral, otherwise you’ll need to bring cash

    Start with Physical Therapy. We don't need a referral in Texas.

    I've been using Texas Physical Therapy Specialist on Parmer/Avery Ranch (Cedar Park). It's a chain that has grown, but they seem decent in getting good folks in.

    I did see an orthopedic surgeon for back issues, who recommended immediate surgery. I did use him for injections which helped, but a second opinion before surgery recommended no surgery but PT. It's been ten years; PT is good!

    Way too many surgeries, oh my wife say the same surgeon. Degenerative disc. Cervical and Lumbar fusions. We both use that same PT, but my wife ripped her rotator cuff. Golden Retriever & Squirrel incident.

    Everyone should have a Primary Care Physician. Yep "Family doc" for annual physical and blood work is good. Ditto for Dermatolotist. Getting older sucks, but I have a good medical team. Sadly between brain, lung, back, knee, and foot surgeries can tell you way too much but start with PT. Just call them and tell them "back issues, self-referred" and take it from there. If they comment this is not improving after a few months, ask who they would recommend.

    ER docs at Avery Ranch Emergency are good. Went in with a split open chin. 8 Stitches. Doc looks at my chart, notes long-term Parkinson's, and "how did that happen". Well, running my boxing coach, I was trying to get a better running time. We took off running, and after 1.5 miles, she said, "you are not out of breath, carrying on a conversation, and that last mile we are under 10 minutes a mile". Uh, what. Lost track of what my feet were doing, face plant. Doc gave me a high five for a sub-10-minute mile. My wife just rolled her eyes.

    Sigh, coaches don't run with me anymore. My 5K PR is 37 minutes. Tri was just under two hours (750M swim, 12-mile bike, 5K run). Arthritis in my knees limiting running. Keep moving.

    That's where I went after my rotator cuff surgery, worked with Jill Milke. I made friends for life when I brought them in a couple of smoked fatties!

    A little something every chance we get.
    :pccoffee: Good Morning ATX! It's been a while, so I'm going to see if I can handle more than a couple threads again. Maybe C&C will come back and I can see some of y'all again! It's not taco work, but I did this yesterday;

    20210405_162642.jpg

    It still runs! Somehow, I am amazed that something new I did went overnight without an issue. Going to take the Taco to a little oil change place for AC this morning. I find no record of any service, and it quite providing instant ice last week. Can't say it's not probably overdue! Then, I think I empty the greenhouse and get it prepped!

    Wouldn't you like to know!
    How's the Telluride ride? I've heard mixed things. I think there's a mentality amongst many Texans that think if they are going 2 miles per hour over the limit that justifies them being able to ride the left lane always. Cops should be cracking down more or maybe their needs to be a PSA from Matthew McConaughey. That seems to do the trick these days...."all-right all-right all-right...unless you're passing of course" :D
