Wildfire in OK + incoming storms makes me think of fire tornadoes like what Norcal had last year. Except we never get tornadoes which made it especially odd. Probably something to do with the fire activity more than actual tornado weather.

Drove through it a bunch as a kid when we would drive from TX to MO to see family...you are correct. Oklahoma is basically a pancake covered with grass. With a few areas they consider mountains but are really just mounds of rocks.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
AZ mountains below Flagstaff are basically this, loose dirt and some reddish rock. Not very tall and they don't really change with the weather at all

I guess it depends on the job, I haven’t had one that I feel would require anything more than a 2 week notice

West of OKC yes, eastern half of the state is wooded. The eastern 1/3 of Oklahoma is thick woods and mountain ranges - Ozarks, Ouachitas, etc. There's much more to OK than prairie grass.

They are mountain ranges. Sure, they're not the Rockies or Cascades but are beautiful and unique. The Washitas in SW OK are cool too, arid boulder fields and cactus everywhere, where the Comanche ruled a couple hundred years ago.

I looked up the definition of 'mountain' and it leaves a lot of room for interpretation. For some reason I thought there would be an minimum elevation for it like around ~4 or 5k feet

"a large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level; a large steep hill"

That's a myopic generalization. If you only took I-35 to OKC and I-44 to MO, then yes most of it is pretty damn boring. There are parts that are off the beaten trail that are cool to explore. Broken Bow north through Tahlequah is beautiful, especially in the fall.
