Suppose that means b42 as well?

Hopefully the tune pack will be available by then?

Just updated. Are you going to be able to add the old tables for the dump tubes to change the byte numbers to get rid of the CEL?

Right right. Would be great to get a definitive answer from @OVTune but the question keeps getting lost in the mix of posts. Crossing my fingers he sees it this time around.

Noob here...If I'm on an old stock ECU ID, will I need 8 credits to flash a custom tune = 4 credits to flash to the latest stock ECU ID, then another 4 credits to flash a custom tune?

You only need to spend credits if you want to view or edit a new ECU ID. You do not need to spend credits to flash a new ECU ID, just new VINs.

Yes. AFAIK, a failed CUW update will brick an ECU. But they are recoverable with special processes.

I don't need to view a new ECU before I flash it?

    Nope.

Just launch the Flash Tool, Prepare the ECU (Unlock the VIN), Select the Tune File, and Calibrate the ECU. You can choose to do the DTC, LV, and AT (if applicable) Resets, if you would like.

interesting, mostly from what I’ve seen a fail comes from not enough voltage right?

Cheap / clone Tactrix adapters or battery issues on the Taco or computer.

I don't know. All this time, I've been like:

:anonymous: Do not use hacked versions of TechStream for an ECU update.

 Do not use a virtual machine environment to do an ECU update.

 Do not use Bluetooth or WiFi dongles for an ECU update (USB only).
The Tactrix is a proven option. Other USB adapters (cheap chinesium ones) are not proven. A few folks have bricked their ECUs using them.

:anonymous: Turn off Windows Update service.

:anonymous: Turn off Windows system sleep functionality.
Use the “always on” setting in power management pane.

    :anonymous:
Turn off USB Power Management for the USB port you are using.

:anonymous: Plug the laptop into a wall outlet.

 Set the computer on the seat and do not touch it while it flashes! A bump or loose USB port could be a bad day.

:anonymous: Hook up a battery maintainer to the vehicle during an ECU update.

:anonymous: /  Turn off all electrical consumers during ECU update.

    :anonymous: Open the hood.
