Front-

Ground to fender - 38.5in

Hub to fender- 23.25in

Rear-

Ground to fender- 39.25in

Hub to fender- 24in

 

I want more info on suspension. I have 17s and lift on order.

 

What wheel offset?

I have Bilstein 8112 and JBA UCAs, wondering if I will be able to get by with 16x8 +0mm offset or if I need to go -25mm.

Typically 0 offset is the money zone for these 3rd gens. Anything over that becomes aggressive and sticks out of the wheel wells a bit more. I have -12, but I wouldn’t go more than that tbh. I’d recommend the 0 offset for sure. -25 you’re gonna be doing a lot of trimming. I’d just hit up JBA and ask if the UCA is gonna rub with that offset bc I’m not entirely sure. (I doubt it tho)

 

Did you have rubbing before CMC or just did it with the lift/wheel/tire upgrade?

Thanks for the quick response! At -12, does your tire come close to the UCA? JBA has a quick reference list on their site, but they only have 285/75 on a 16x9 -19mm or a 255/85 on a 16x8 -12mm so I'm trying to extrapolate here haha

My arms are the high caster ones FWIW

Ideally I can rock a 0mm offset, but not if that means interference on the control arm. I use the truck offroad so it needs to flex without any rub. I think -25mm is a bit more aggro than I really want.

I just did it along with the lift. The shop I went to said I may not rub when driving around town but I would when off-roading. They honestly did a phenomenal job- It looks factory. No regrets with getting it done.

 

thread derail, but what's the story with your headlights? Modified OEM or some aftermarket version?

 

Had a shop flatten the pinch weld and do the CMC, it rubbed about less than a half inch at full lock.

I purchased a package through rogue offroad.

it was the eibach pro lift kit (first notch) SPC UCA, and a 3 leaf AAL

 

these are the alpharex black housing headlights with smoked daytime running headlights.


They are mehhh, but look nice

SPC upper control arms, caster set to +3*

Tires have plenty of clearance to the UCA’s (see pics) but definitely do rub on the fender liners, right next to the cab mounts. I am unsure at this point whether they are hitting cab mounts or not. I am planning on letting them run for another week or so before going in to open up any more clearance. The shop that installed my tires double booked alignments on the day they did my tires, and the truck actually feels pretty close, so I told them I could wait and go back up next week to have it lined up. Once the alignment is fully set I’ll reassess tire clearance. They also may be rubbing the front bumper just a hair but I am planning on doing a ZR2 style bumper cut so that will be a non-issue soon.

 

What do your rear lower control arm cams look like? The +3 setting on the uppers may be causing your issues. The upper control arm brings the back of the tire towards the firewall while the lower control arm gains clearance. I bet if you max the lower caster cams you will be fine.

Rotating those cams 90 degrees so the indention is level and pointing to the center of the truck will give you more caster and clearance at the back of the fender.

Rotating the rear cams, yes? Will this increase toe-in at the same time/make it trickier to set toe properly? I get that camber is probably a non-issue because it can be adjusted by sliding the upper ball joint in its adjustment groove.
And when doing that, should I re-set the caster chip at the upper ball joint to a lower angle?
Going in for alignment tomorrow, I was thinking about starting a new thread to feel out what people are running successfully.

edit, after re-checking the instructions for the UCA’s, I think I have a better understanding. I have my upper ball joints set to +1* which, to my understanding, means I can achieve +3* by maxing the lower alignment cam, toward the center of the truck.

 

I’d have then try and get 4-5 degrees caster. Toe is a simple adjustment and so is camber using the upper ball joint.

 

Where did you get those center caps? Are those MR150 or are they Konig?
