It is a fresh valve and o-ring...whether it’s good or not, probably not. I had a few laying around and they are either Amazon special or whatever came in the small parts bag with the bike.

so i just found out today that my company is offering a free day off if you take 5 in a row. so if i take monday-thursday off, i get friday off without using a day of my fto. offer valid until the end of july.

my gf doesn't get as much time as i do so this will probably end up being a solo mtb trip somewhere. fly fishing around would be a plus.

i live in colorado springs, but am not opposed to driving somewhere. trying to keep it around 12 hours or under of getting from home to there. i'd be camping the whole time too

    any suggestions?

pinkbike has been doing those destination showcases in idaho, that could be a fun trip since its only a 12 hour drive.

oregon and washington feel a bit too far for me to want to solo trip out there. thats a bitch of a drive.

i could do a individual time trial on the whole colorado trail at the end of july. this is more of a backup plan since ive done it a couple times (but not the whole thing at once).

west colorado and moab for a week?

a week of angel fire and santa fe riding? (I have family down in santa fe so ill be heading that way at some point this summer regardless)

walmart land? (the place in arkansas or something) the riding would have to be insanely good to get me to go out east. (grew up in kentucky, prefer colorado)

if its just where the valve stem is, you could possibly get lucky and put just a strip over that. not really recommended, but if it works its easier than retaping the whole rim

If it's a fresh one then it's probably fine. I have had less trouble with nicer ones, but really it's just (relatively) cheap bling!

Good times were had by all today. I was the only one there so I can say that with confidence. Few others out mid day at 83° and perfect dirt.

I’ve heard of bikes that aren’t locked in, snatched from a hitch rack or pickup bed just while stopped at a traffic light. If I don’t lock it, I at least wrap a few bungees around the downtube and clip ‘em to the tie down hooks when it’s in the bed.

Just because it leaks out around the stem doesn’t mean that’s where the gap in the seal is. In my experience there’s a bubble in the tape and the air goes through the hollow portion of the rim and out at the valve stem.

My solution that has worked 100% for me: tape up the rim. Overlap at least 1.5” clear of the valve opening. Make the smallest possible X slit for the valve, but don’t install it. Instead, mount the tire with a tube inflated to 60 psi +. Leave it overnight, remove the tube, add a tubeless valve stem cinched down snuggly, add sealant and inflate with a compressor or whatever is needed to seat the bead. Mount up the wheels still with high pressure and ride around on the street for a few minutes to distribute the sealant. Then air down and go for a real ride.

Using the tube helps press the tape against the rim ... in my experience you can never fix a bad tape job with more sealant.

Dude, that’s insane. I wonder how easy they ripping them out of the 1up racks since they’re kinda hard to opener if you don’t know how.

203=8" Almost all companies make a 203. As for 223? Who knows...
    Thanks Brits!
If you're upgrading the front to 200, do the rear as well. You generate more heat in the back, so I'm not sure why people still hang on to the old idea that you need a smaller rotor in the back.
Honestly, if my frame or fork allowed it, I'd run 220.
Basic rule is 2 spokes over the hole. If you're leaking, allow a few days and rides for the sealant to find any holes and plug em. If not, retape.
Angel Fire is awesome, but you'll run out of riding in a couple of days.
I'd HIGHLY suggest a Jackson/Driggs to ID trip.

I just went for 200 upgrade front and rear, I'm not sure if I could've cleared 220 on the rear.
Next brake upgrade we may go for that though!

What did you have in front, 180? I’m surprised it didn’t come with 200..

That is a very random workplace benefit "20% off PTO, Limited Time Only!". Don't go to Bentonville it is not worth your drive.

Idaho sounds like what you're looking for - especially to complement with fly fishing. I have only ridden in Wydaho area at Jackson and Targhee. Good riding, great fishing

Agreed - if BV was on the way, sure stop for a day. From what I have seen the trails are very basic and "official" without any element of danger  but also when people set up those kinds of trails, they go one obstacle to another without considering flow of the overall trail at all, it's happening at Vietnam in Mass - there used to be a flow to it but now it's just a disaster because they're adding removing and changing stuff around without any consideration of the trail overall. :(

Yeah I'm not going to preach about Bentonville because lots of people in this thread have already heard my opinion

Just kidding here's my opinion it's the starved-for-attention basic white girl vanilla latte of mountain biking. Way overhyped fake news

It's the forced/commercialized setup of it all. All the trails around me "happened", anything that's become "official" was after it was done by some hooligans in the woods for years first. It's (corporation) trying to get people to move there because they're in the middle of nowhere and desperate for talent, but don't want to move to where the people are. "If you build it, they will come".

I'm all for it - I think it's cool, I think it's a good idea, I think that's better than cramming more people into the bay area or Austin :spy:

    The part that bugs me....

    It all feels a little....

@abacall what compound is your dissector? Someone else mentioned it but they make it in MaxxGrip and MaxxTerra. MaxxGrip would have the worst tread life.
