Sorry to hear this. My son just cut a trap door in his 3rd Gen 4Runner for an easy change out. Worked out well. I could not see him (us) dropping the fuel tank.

 

Wow. I drove into work this morning - I can not believe the difference the new ball joints made. I don’t know how to describe it. The front end just felt tight and bumps were more smooth.

I should have probably changed these out a long time ago; but I just didn’t know they were bad. I think maybe the stiff lift kit masked over the issue.

Why the disappointment?

 

Got my new winch plate and front hitch mounted. Now I need to plump my mile marker 12k hydraulic winch up.

 

I had a KB Voodoo bed rack with the shit powdercoating.

 

Finally got her broken in..

 

Supposedly they worked all that out. Supposedly. I bought my tailgate cap second hand, rust reformed, primered and bedcoated it, so I wouldn't know.

 

Are ball joint replacement DIY project OR do you recommend getting professional help

 

We'll see how mine hold up. I got them because the factory plastic ones move around and the rails for my soft topper would slide around when tightening them down.

 

Yea, there's not much lateral reinforcement for the plastic caps since they just snap in. Good luck with those!

 

Is this a "hidden winch mount" that sits under the stock bumper or does this tie in with an aftermarket metal bumper some how?

 

Original battery crapped out. 7.5 years is a pretty good run so I can’t complain. Don’t run much extra except a powered sub and amp, so I went with an Interstate.


also threw in these new DRLs - brighter and ‘slightly’ different color. Even look cool when off.

 

I still see enough people complaining about their customer service for me to avoid them.
