    Good morning guys, so it looks like I have 2 options, hire someone, or just get a 20amp a rerun the cable. Heres my panel...

    It looks like the service to the spa was disconnected long ago, even before we moved in. The last pictures is a sort of service or secondary box that sits right below the main panel. The wires to the 50amp were disconnected it both areas.

    I'm thinking of getting a 20amp, running a GFCI outlet to the box below for a outdoor Nest camera, then continue running it into the backyard and add 2 GFCI outlet boxes in the back.

    Anyone have a link where I can get a 20amp breaker for the old beast?

    Never even heard of Crouse-Hinds, but that looks sort of like a Square-D bus bar. WTF is it with some places having outdoor breaker panels?????

    I'm in California. I've never seen a breaker box on the inside of a residential home.

    So what stops the neighbourhood s**t-pumps from messing with your breakers?

    Quick google search shows that breaker boxes are outside here so the fire department can turn off the fire in case of a fire. We have locks on our boxes here. It's more likely for someone to break into your window than to break into your box.

    So instead of just pulling the meter base out, they have to f*** with a locked breaker panel? Huh... I guess it can work in CA; not too likely to fly in most of Canada with the winter weather.

    I can't answer that for you. But feel free to contact a CA fire department for building codes. But In my 30+ years and my parents 60+ years and grandparents B.C. years, we've never had an issue or even heard on the news anyone wanting to mess with breakers panels. It's just unheard of here.

    Not doubting you, just seems weird to me. I can see the logic behind it.

    If you have any knowledge though of a compatible 20a breaker to help me get started, let me know. That's kinda what I'm after now.

    Yep, chances are it's either a Siemens or a Square D (it looks like a Square D to me, but I can't see the bus-bar well enough.

    Sorry, on a really crappy monitor. Okay, that's definitely NOT Siemens or Square D... I couldn't see the prong on the hot side of the bus bar. I have NO idea what that is...

    Uhg, have to open up the beast again when I get home. Maybe a clip type. I'm still learning what to look for. These breakers are old but too much to replace the panel.

    Like I said, take one out and bring it with you to the Home Depot.
    To narrow down compatibility, look at what brand of breaker panel you have.

    For instances: ie;

    a person might have a Bryant breaker panel. The original breakers my be Bryant but Bryant doesn’t exist anymore so you have to find Bryant compatible breakers.
