Honestly never paid it much attention, till I found some 200mm sram center lock rotors on sale. I knew the rear was 180mm, but couldn’t remember the front so I did some research. I figured it’s possibly the best brake upgrade I could do, especially after finding out both sides were 180.

I can only imagine they chose 180 front and rear is because that’s what the 36 fits factory without an adapter.

Here’s an article, same size specs except I’m running RSC and SRAM Rotors.

This summer I'm going to be dropping off the fiance in Kansas City for a bachelorette party... Was planning on bringing my bike and heading somewhere relatively close for a weekend of riding/camping. Bentonville is pretty close so that was my initial plan. Any other suggestions?

    not enough.
honestly, short of buying brand new brakes, upgrading rotors has been proven and shown to be a more cost effective way to get better braking performance. so you went the correct direction. :) still not cheap though.

So...you'll drop her off in Kansas City and get called to pick her up in like Bentonville where you just so happen to be? ;P

If you're camping/driving - hit up the Ozarks, and if it's doable, Mountain View is a cool little town. BV is 3 hours further south from KCMO. I would just sit in KC and eat mountains of barbecue... :D

Driving south from Minnesota to drop her off in KC -- then she will go with the girls to the Ozarks for the weekend. Then I'll pick her back up in KC on Sunday. So BV seems doable, anywhere in MO is doable as well.. If Ozarks/Mountain View has good riding I may just do that.

Interesting that they specd that bike with 180, even my low end stumpy came with 200 front.

Not sure about riding near Mountain View, I didn't go with a bike but it was just a cool place. Looks like trailforks has some stuff a smidge north of there, quick google I would have to ask around for others. You'll get more out in BV, depends if you want to just ride or want to ride on the side of a decent trip.

I just want to ride tbh. I may just end up driving the 3 hours to BV while I'm down there. I think that will probably be the best riding in the vicinity. I'll check trailforks in a bit. my laptop is chuggin' along rendering some videos, takes forever to load up trailforks.

meh I just found it on the google. I'd say BV will be your biggest network around there as much as I just shat on it.

    upload_2021-4-6_11-53-25.jpg

Looks like you could spend a few hours or maybe a full day here near Mountain View.

All rear tires are MaxTerra. Front tires are always as sticky as possible.
Big bikes have DD, trail bikes get Exo+.
The dissector on the trail bike is MaxTerra Exo+.
Again, I do ride a bit loose. But they are all subjected to the same treatment.

Ok Alabama folks. I'm going to be in Guntersville (40 minutes south of Huntsville) for a week in October. Anything nearby worth trying to bring a bike or finding a rental for a day or two of riding? Looks like the closest trails are in Huntsville and Birmingham and a real small trail network right on the lake.
    @jjones.yota @levie125 @whitedlite I think I've see you all post about AL.

Yes! Guntersville state park is actually good riding, best for hardtail. It’s smooth and climby. Like riding in a bowl.

Huntsville is my home and has Monte Sano State Park. Very technical and chunk with little to no flow, but decent elevation.

south of you would be black creek trails in Gadsden, or coldwater mountain in Anniston. Both systems I have heard GREAT things about but I haven’t had a chance to make it to yet.

Birmingham has oak mountain state park that has some of the best flow trails in the state. Fast and smooth and you can get a lot of miles there.

Depending on the week, I’m getting married Oct 1st.

I’m in. @levie125 should be here then too. We could probably get a good coldwater mtn ride in. Are you here only on weekdays or over a weekend too?

@whitedlite @tweakit88 and @Jerneyman are all my local riders that could join possibly too.

oh and @backcountryj can do coldwater!
