Posting on a thread titled "is my penis too small" should suffice.........

I’m pretty sure his post about turning radius and high-centering was a joke, not an argument

All good points here, but it's hard to beat the saying, "best to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it."

Long beds and short beds can lead to some bad decisions.

first 6 of my tacos were Long Bed and was so easy to put a slide in camper. last 2 were and is 5 FT and to put a camper I had to do so much arrangements... 2 months ago got 2019 DCLB , finally shopping for some truck bed sleeper arrangement (RSI or RLD, Tradesman) I do road trips, not much of the offRoad so having all gear and a good slide in or build up camper on 6 ft ... NICE, and penis does not have to compromise

Not going through all 11 pages to see if anyone has had a similar experience, but here's something funny and irritating about the general lack of knowledge that most (not all) automotive sales folk share.

When I went to purchase my truck in 17' I had a hell of a time finding a DCLB TRDOR in Quicksand. Anyway, the dealer who I finally settled with tried the bait and switch thing, ended up not having the dclb, and trying really really hard to push a dcsb on me. I told him, look man, while I'd like the wb of the short bed, I need the long bed. It's not a consideration, it's a requirement. Between my toolbox, and occasionally both kid's atvs (standing up) plus a bunch of other shit, it just has to be that way. During our conversations, I made it a point many times that on Scouting trips, I have enough stuff with us that the LB will be full, AND I still tow a trailer with larger camp setup gear in it. Guy tells me he's going to talk to inventory manager, and find one they can transfer from another dealer. 45 minutes of waiting goes by, he comes back and says "ok, we've got you taken care of. This truck right here, and we'll give you the bed extender for free, and install it for free". I told him he was wasting my time, and that's not going to work, particularly when towing an enclosed trailer. "Nah nah, man. It's perfectly fine. We see guys towing trailers with the short bed all the time". Oh yeah? with the tailgate down? "yeah, it's super common" .... .... That was essentially the last thing he said to me before I decided to take my business to another dealer.

What can a big bed do though?? Well, I've got a wife and 2 kids, so ditching the back seats isn't an option. And I've got my tool chest, and 2 dogs whose kennel has to fit back there. Along with other misc gear and such. So, for me I needed it. I don't particularly think either is better than the other, it's more about what you need it for and how you intend to possibly use it in the future. My offroading heart said than an ACSB was the right way to go for sure. But practical me, knowing what I was going to use it for, knew that I really needed the DCLB. Don't overthink it, especially since you've already committed to it. If it works for you, then it's perfect.

I think you put the bed extender on the wrong end of the truck.

Hahaha... Well it's pretty obvious gentlemen, size does matter. But we are now talking about trucks right, just trucks.

A Highlander would get the job done. I'm pulling a 2000# dry trailer tent. With the kids and spouse, 4 door wasn't an option though, was mandatory. But sure, a Highlander with no bed would do it. I guess it would even be more comfortable for everyone.

    But I wanted a Tacoma.

Would a 5f bed suffice? Sure. But the damn 6f bed is always so full with the tonneau closed. I don't like the topper, so yeah got a 6f bed also when I upgraded. It's not about penis size, I don't off road so the length isn't an issue. 5f beds are fine, I just didn't was to overthink where to put the stuff.

No such thing as access cab short bed

I had the aclb moved to DCLB as I needed more interior space

really wanted manual trans. But 3rd pedal vs using a 6ft bed daily, DCLB won out

Alternatively, short bed fits in the garage.
