    @WillyDerness
    Ok, so I did a quick look into some of the information I have.
    Bear in mind that I only have information for 2005/2006 and for 2009. Yours being an '07 could be different.

    The information for A-TRAC on the 2005 and 2006 models appears on page BC-92 of the attached. Make sure you understand that A-TRAC is different from TRAC discussed on the earlier pages.
    0410023.pdf

    The information seems to indicate that in 2005 and 2006 there is no A-TRAC button to push but that A-TRAC may be automatically be activated when the 4WD switch is turned (elsewhere suggesting that it is active only in 4Lo(?). At least that is how it read things on pg. BC-92. If A-TRAC is functioning properly the Slip Indicator light will continuously blink in operation.

    The electrical wiring diagram for 2005 and 2006 also does not show an A-TRAC light on the instrument cluster. Not sure for 2007 and 2008 but such a light is present on '09+. If a 2007 model electrical wiring diagram could be found it would be interesting to see if there were a check function associated with the headlight you stated.

    For it to only come on with the headlights and that it would regularly turn on with 4Lo makes me think something with my 4wd or the abs/trac module might be malfunctioning. Have not seen a slip indicator light up yet.

    It was a Canadian government rig in Edmonton before it auctioned into us market. Maybe there’s a difference between a US Tacoma?

    Well you got me puzzled now. The only thing I can think to do is to go to the Toyota site and download for the 2007 if there is a Canada version of the FSM, an owner's manual and anything else. There is a fee but it is rather nominal and you can get other service information.

    That does not appear to have a-track. At least from what I've seen .

    I have same problem, 07 Tacoma base model 4x4. A-Trac light comes on when headlights are turned on. I have no traction buttons of any sort. Mine also looks the same as Willyderness brake booster pump. Truck came from Alberta. Where do I start?

    Doesn't matter if you see a light or not... there is no A-TRAC unless you have the hydraulic brake booster and 4 wheel spin sensors, wired together to the all important...

    Just bought the truck but had brand new 18” wheels and tires that was just installed prior to me buying it off the used car lot. Maybe they knocked a sensor off. Just odd that it only comes on when headlights are turned on.

    A-TRAC was not even a standard TRD Off Road feature until the 2009 models. I know there were some earlier versions on the 4Runner and other models, perhaps a special option on Tacomas? They have to have the hydraulic brake booster and not the vacuum booster, that all other Tacoma models use.

    Hey sorry for the late reply! I still have the light and don’t know why. I still have yet to see a slip indicator turn on, regardless of the slipage.

    My ABS light comes on at random in 2wd and also when I get into 4Lo. Something I need to get fixed. Lately I’ve been thinking that maybe the abs module is malfunctioning and leaving the “phantom a-trac” light on.

    If you have any leads let me know. I’ll probably be taking it into the dealership before to long and will let them scratch their heads over it.

    What does yours do when you tires slip right now? Does it just act like it just has limited slip? Or does it cut the power until it stops spinning ?

    Sorry to resurrect an old thread but did you ever figure this out? I have a 2007 TRD Sport from Canada with the exact same thing.
