    Finally happened!!!

Since 2017 I’ve been saving and getting our finances in order to be able to afford a Tacoma. I was initially concerned as I have one toddler in a front-facing car seat and an infant in a rear-facing. However, after taking in the car seats to the dealership to check, we found we would fit just fine. Once the infant can be in front-facing we’ll be golden. I’m 5’9” and my wife is 5’5”.

When I test drove the Sport it felt better than the Off Road and for my main purposes (daily driving, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking) the truck would see more highway and gravel/dirt roads than any real off-roading. I prefer the look of the off-road’s black fender flares but the Sport’s ride felt better for how I drive.

I plan to add a Lomax Tri-Fold, change the wheels and tires for some A/T’s...I think they look cooler. As for the interior, some seat covers and a dashcam. I have friends that work in auto insurance and their horror stories have me looking at getting a good one. I have a friend that works at Garmin so I will probably go with one of their models and take advantage of his discount.

My wife has a 2019 Chevy Equinox (she comes from a GM family) so if we ever need to transport our cat and dog, we’ll have to use her vehicle. The pets wouldn’t fit comfortably in the cab. I own a ’97 F150 for hauling stuff I wouldn’t just yet with a new Tacoma and several of my neighbors own and would let me borrow trailers to haul larger stuff, so short bed is of no concern to me.

I have loved Tacomas since I was a little kid and I’m ecstatic to have one!

DCSB AT TRD Sport 4x4 in Army Green. Has All-weather floor liners and door sill protectors, LED Lighting, and Tech Package (PAS, BSM, RCTA).

    Welcome to TW!
I have one and love it. If you haven't seen it already, they have a new one that opens completely against the back window.

For sure! The pro grille is the best one I think.

Nice! I’m also new to the Tacoma world. Get you a softtopper with a doggo window and you can share in the pet transport. And use it for other things. Welcome!
