Actually looks like something I'd like to watch. I've been binging all the collapse docu-dramas recently and I hadn't come across that one.

 

Have you read Collapse by Diamond? It and Guns, Germs and Steel are must reads.

Read any Edward Abbey? The two big ones are Monkey Wrench Gang and Desert Solitaire. Skip the first one, but read Desert Solitaire. I think it would resonate with you.

 

I've read most of Abbey's stuff. I'm always looking for a good author I haven't read so keep them coming.

 

Bill Bryson? If you haven't, read all of it. Specifically "A walk in the woods" and "A short history of nearly everything." The audio books are just as good as reading them.
