Because my PreRunner is already set up as a camping rig if I could find a car hauler and a small single cab four wheel drive pickup and that could be my off-road rig

 

If you do a drop bracket lift you can go higher...I seriously considered it for a long time and still do at times.

 

I think converting yours would be the way to go but I understand the lure of the older ones.

 

6800 lb Max is a towing capability of a second gen with a v6

 

Ya and you got to consider what you have already done to your rig so not sure that still applies.

 

And a mid-80s Toyota pickup in stock configuration is 3900 lb

 

And a car hauler is 1900 lb

 

It's possible but I don't know how long the transmission will last if I did it all the time

 

Time to get a dedicated 2wd truck to haul either one.

It's going to get a lot longer

 

I need somebody to dedicate a weekend to go out with me and go scouting

 

Need two versions, short run and a longer one with a place to camp as it makes it a long day.

 

Lots of of it can be done via google earth.

 

There's a campsite near Mason that everybody camps at when they do this run

 

If you can get screen shot then i can help you with the route if you are unable to export it. I will need it to be fairly detailed.
