What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I spent the last 5 days trying to get the smoke smell out of the truck with a 130000 miles on it. Seems like it's almost done. Replaced the cabin filter(yuck) , steam cleaned it (OMG YUCK!) Blue Coral carpet/upholstery cleaner, then I used X99, Ozium and febreeze and an armor all car bomb. Smells good 3 days later with lots of sunshine and windows open.

 

Who makes the bumper?

 

New tires and a set of take off wheels.

 

Got the interior back together after installing Noico Black 80 and 150 Red. Moved on to the rear doors with Noico and replaced the stock speakers with Kicker 6 3/4 KS. Front doors and radio replacement are next.

 

What do you have for seat covers?

Took the F'd driveline off and dropped her off at a shop. Getting a new stronger rear driveshaft (smaller diameter and thicker steel) built and then getting the whole thing balanced. Should be back up and running in a couple days.

If the smell comes back you can try an ozone machine, or take it to a shop that does ozone treatments.

 

Looks nice and clean! I know the feeling of the dremel on that plastic... I did the same for my winch switch on the console. Quite the mess afterwards along with the hot pieces hitting you while you’re doing it

I left my windows open on a hot summer camping trip on accident one time. Fire smoke smell in the cabin stuck around for months it was horrible. Took a few cleanings and oder-x spray bombs to get it to finally not smell. smoke in a vehicle is so hard to remove.

You used to be able to rent ozone machines- they work great. I wonder if those are rented out anymore?

 

Im getting ready to do this now the weather is nicer. Can anyone tell me how much to get for a DCSB? I plan on doing the whole interior at some point.

 

I replaced my back-up camera.

Last week the image got all funky. The Entune head unit seemed to be OK.

Toyota wanted $719 for a replacement. Instead, I found this on Amazon:

It's working just fine now.

 

Yeah I didnt look into that, figured I could go that route but didnt look into it too far. what I did ended up working it just took a bit longer. inside of my truck smelled like a fireplace for a while.

 

I followed their suggestion and bought two boxes of black and two boxes of red. It looks like that amount will be about right by the time I finish with maybe a little extra.
