Pretty sure Toyota doesn’t recommend any welding of the Tacoma frames. It ruins the original heat treatment which diminishes the strength. If it can’t be fixed on a frame machine then they want it totaled. That’s why you see a lot of Tacoma’s get totaled because of frame damage.

Nice impact on the semi. Almost looked like he was going to back up and cream it again.

Agreed, but I saw it with my own 2 eyes.
Edit.... and a couple of the welds looked like a rookie was doing. Welds were terrible looking.

October 2018. This moron drove into our culdesac with 11 cop cars behind him. Wife and I heard sirens and roaring engines (which isn't out of the norm in Kent), but all of a sudden they got MUCH louder. I'm glad he didn't hit my Tacoma! I thought we were gonna see the guy die when the cops were standing on the hood of their cruiser with guns drawn and other cops breaking out his windows. They finally taized him and drug him out. I heard it was reported he had a shotgun and had just stolen the truck nearby. Within 45 minutes it was as if nothing had happened other than a few bits of safety glass on the ground and a nitrile glove. Tow truck came and took the rig and cleaned everything up pretty good.

Unfortunately what I thought too. He might be found at-fault. Justice works in mysterious ways.

Am I the only one disappointed that the chase didn't go off road?

The only place that 2wd was headed, was the mall. Good thing it was a short bed or it couldn't make all those turns.

I mean at one point he was doing like 9 mph. The cops had to have been dragging that one out. If the semi hadn't stepped in, he'd have driven till the tank ran out, which I'm guessing was soon since he had the inclination to drive through that gas station right before kissing the semi.

Thats the M.O. here.. follow them until they run out of gas or crash.
The day before we had a short pursuits 5 blocks from my house. Wilshire and doheny in Beverly hills. Guy in a corolla crashed into another car, there were 20 officers and a swat vehicle on him within minutes. It lasted 6 hours... why, because the suspect wouldn't get out of the car and they wouldn't approach.
