I do a lot of work overseas and my truck sits or when I am home I drive one of our other cars. Since moving to utah I seem to go through a set every 2 years.

Back in sunny so-cal, I got like 4 years out of the first set.

I'd caution you on PCing the coils. I've seen more than one instance where the outcome is undesired. Just a heads up.

Going TC for the Front. Not doing a LT kit for the rear but I’m going with BAMF shock relocation and Deaver U402.
Thanks for the heads up! I have access to Powder Coating at my work so I’ll be be able to make sure I’m happy with the result!

I think he means it’ll crack and chip off pretty quickly. Think about how much movement the springs go through. I believe the factory “paint” from king is a rubberized paint. They should have been able to do custom colors for you though.

No, I mean the heat process effects the spring rate of the springs. I've seen them do weird stuff once received back from PC.

Example. These three springs are “14”

I’m pretty confident that due to short amount of time that the coils will have to be in the oven that they shouldn’t be effected. I bet some other shops let them pre heat too long. If for some reason I mess them up, I’ll just buy new coils. I mean, it’s just money right... lol:rofl:

yeah, applying heat treatment process to metal, like inside a PC oven, is not a good idea, for sure it will change the material property.

Well that’s just fatigue from use. But the tempering and crystal structure change for spring steel doesn’t happen until closer to 600*f which is a bit more than they do for pc. I’ve just heard of it chipping away after pc from flexing.

I’ve had PC’d coils on 8” & 10” CO’s for about a decade with zero issues from the travel of the coil itself. Only issues I’ve had are from rocks and my own tre’s dry humping my coils at full lock. If they blast and prep them well it will last.

Can’t imagine that happened from a pc bake. Typical pc bake is only 350 for 15 - 30 mins.

    Whole lotta stuff
My 700lb eibachs I had powder coated are sagging a bit. But I think it has more so to do with aging than the coating. Could it have sped up the aging process? Who knows.

Depends on how you want to use your truck - if you want it a truck then keep the tailgate, if you want it a toy, dual spares way back for better weight distribution.
