Hey if anyone is interested I have a TRD quick shifter kit that took two months to finally get only to realize it’s fit a 2nd gen with a 4x4 and a 6 speed and I have a 4x4 5 speed . The company is willing to take it back and refund my money . But if someone is interested in it and I can save you the hassle pm me . Local pick up only .

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

How are the roads up around there? Everything still closed?

We tried 3N01 again last Thursday. It's still completely covered in snow as far as you can see. Coming from the Cottonwood Rd side about 3-4 miles from where it meets Cottonwood Rd.

Unless they cleared it since then.

If I new where that was I could tell you I just don’t know the roads you all are talking about since I’m a noob at the off road trail stuff . I was up past long barn a little bit last weekend test driving my land cruiser and did not see any snow on the side of the road at all but that doesn’t mean much . If you tell me where to go I could easily check it out and save other people the time . I need to get that app and put some more time into this , but the weather has been nice so I’ve been cleaning up from winter with projects around the house . If I can help I am glad to do so .

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

3N01 is the road that heads East out of Longbarn toward Hull Creek Campground

Cottonwood Rd (1N04) heads East out of Tuolumne towards Cherry Lake

Definitely get the Gaia App (or similar) I run Gaia, OnX Hunt, and OnX Offroad. I had a few problems with Gaia a couple weekends ago, but I think it had more to do with my tablet being an old piece of shit with no memory left, than it had to with any problems with Gaia.

Once the roads open up, definitely come roll with us. We'll get you familiar with the roads up there in no time

1N04 is paved from end to end

3N01 is mostly paved, there is a section of dirt (about 5 miles I'd say) but it's a wide open fire road.

Those are the main roads that get you to the smaller fire roads and trails.

Most everything off of 1N04 and 3N01 is going to be fire roads, a 2 wheel drive can actually make most of it if it's dry (I actually stay in 2wd most of the time off those roads)

Niagara Rim Trail is probably the hardest thing we do up 108 (this side of the Summit). That's off 5N01 (probably wont open till early June, at least that's when it seems like it opened last year). There are some spots you need 4wd and a spotter, but it's nothing close to Rubicon, Fordyce or Slickrock type trails, plus there are bypasses where you can completely avoid pretty much anything technical (except hard brake hill... which is basically a steep hill you go down, riding your brakes hard... nothing extraordinarily crazy)

You'll be more than capable of keeping up on the vast majority of what we do up 108.

Even Niagara Rim, the biggest suggestion would be skids and sliders. You can make it through, essentially stock height (makes things harder but it has been done many times).

The first time Larry @Blue Canary went through Niagara Rim I think he was essentially stock height. But he had skids and sliders if I'm not mistaken. Plus Larry has balls of steal and I think he traded the last fuck, he had to give, for a cheese sandwich back in 1997.
