Close to Portland. I travel a lot (in the before times) and PDX is an awesome airport to fly in and out of. Vancouver keeps you out of Seattles taxes and out of Portland's taxes.

    Valid point.

Personally, I’d look more at White Salmon, Camas or the areas East of Battleground, but I haven’t been in that specific area in years.
Stay the fk out of Portland and the surrounding burbs. The traffic sucks and it’s still a city in decay.

Sandy and Estacada are far enough out, but you still have Oregon taxes. Anywhere south or far west of Portland is tolerable, but the traffic to PDX will still suck.

I agree. I've been looking at Camas Washougal sandy and white salmon, even the Dalles. Portland sucks

Sandy is a consideration, because the chairlifts are ~30 min away.

I used to fly with a girl from White Salmon and she comes from an aviation family. Amber and both of her sisters are

If you can afford $3M, then take a look at $1.7M, it even has it's own hangar.

I didn't see the previous post on that place. $1.7M is not a reality for me either, plus I don't fly anymore. It is a beautiful home and if I could afford it, I'd take up flying again.

If you like snow, the east side of the Metro area will give you that.

Perfect for that grass strip. Some of the guys here in HSV own RV-7's and like them.

Having kids later in life, prevented me from taking up that hobby.

My brother owns a property up in Arlington that at one point was FAA registered. He actually had to do some stuff to get it de-listed or whatever because it's a non-viable field now and he didn't want people using it by accident in an emergency.

My neighbor in Tennessee had a grass strip that he no longer maintained. I bet he had to do something similar, since it wasn't listed on our sectionals.

    Edit: This is the place:
