Hey all, looking to get into a Taco (finally) and found one in thinking of purchasing. Want to see what you guys think. Its a 2008 TRD sport, meticulously clean on the inside and out but has 161k miles and they're asking 16k for it.

Taco's sell like hot cakes here in CO so its in range here but still seems steep for such a high mileage one.

What are your guys thoughts? Here the link to the truck:

Looks clean but no pics of the frame or underside, I'd definitely want to closely inspect the frame and underside for rust, leaks, etc.

Also see what kind of maintenance history you can find out so you have an idea of what has and hasn't been done.

For that kinda bunce, I’d definitely hold out for something not so long in the tooth. Plus I never trust blokes what black out their license plates like that. Least he ain’t one of those knuckleheads who blocks out the plate with their fat thumbs. My advice PASS unless he’s willing to let the white bitch go for a reasonable amount..... twelve grande.

Yeah it's over priced but all Vehicles are overpriced right now. Ugh, it's ridiculous but trucks sell like crazy here. Not just trucks, but all used cars are selling for 2-4k over what they're worth.

You don't have to tell that to this happening cat. I took the current sales climate in into account when I said that twelve is the right price for it. You gotta understand, that rig is over the cut off. It's been driven well over half the distance to the moon. Literally. Plus it's thirteen years old, a number that I don't have to tell ya has a checkered past. Move on from that rig, old sport, unless the dude wants to climb way down from his high horse. When you find the right little 'coma girl in the months to come you'll be thanking me.

Many many many Tacomas on here with several hundred thousand miles on them. Its not an '05 - '06 so it isnt going to have head gasket issues. The inside and engine bay are pretty clean which is generally an indication of the overall care put into a vehicle. What fluids are visible in that pic are topped up, no visible leaks.

OP @Root_Galaxy if it checks all of your needs and is within your budget, and if the shop gives it the thumbs up, Id say go for it

TW is full of "happening cats", self proclaimed "experts" on everything muffler bearing lubricants to the best air for your tires. If you need help in making your decision, get opinions from someone you actually "know" and "trust" who has actually SEEN the vehicle you are interested in buying. Any vehicle is only worth what someone is willing to pay. If it's in exceptional cosmetic shape, it might be worth a little bit of a premium over market. Make an offer, don't budge, and if it doesn't work out, keep looking.

    Like, so many.
I would have trouble paying that much for a vehicle with that many miles.
