I mean every. Single. Time. My wife borrows my truck and moved the seat up, I go to hop in and smash the ever-loving bejeesus out of my shin on that super sharp instrument panel. I have an actually dime-sized hole in my shin from repeated injury. It’s just so sharp! Has anyone else done this? Has anyone mitigated this design flaw in any sort of meaningful fashion? I’m accepting ideas, but I’m also thinking about some sticky foam padding so my shins can heal.

I never once have hit my shin on the instrument panel. Have no clue how you guys do it, i tried and failed miserably. My seat is pretty far back though.

Seriously... I have two buddies who are flying solo and they are completely unsympathetic to my plight. :)

When I get in any 2nd or 3rd gen without moving the seat back first.

The power seats make it worse, they are soooooo slow.

The driver side grab handle might be helpful to assist your ingress.

You could always ask your wife to shove the seat back to where she got it. Just like you lower the toilet seat for her when you’re done. :)

If you knew she drove your truck. Wouldn't you readjust drivers seat back to your preference before jumping in?

Same here. Family knows the rules.

1: only I get to drive
    2: no food or drink
3: feet stay on the floor

I don't worry about 2 and 3, its a work truck. They can't do more damage than I do to it daily. :D

Mine is a parking lot princess that I use to haul fishing gear and kayaks. Ive had enough beat up cars, this was my first brand new truck, so I keep it clean.
