I was passing the Finger Lakes National Forest today, and I decided to make a quick pass through it looking for trails. I found at least one that looked pretty legit (i.e. "I don't want to start this without a partner and/or winch"). Might be worth mapping the area out further.

I'm near that area. Where was that? I have time this weekend maybe I could check it out a little bit.

There are a few roads posted as Seasonal Use in that area. Not just in the park, but closer to the lake as well. One I went down was Chicken Coop Rd., and it was pretty fun with the ice that's still there. Probably 2wd-able, though. Check out
this spot if you go through: https://goo.gl/maps/36jYzSbGFT3aTLAY9 ... it looked like the start of a jeep trail. I also found a trail that started with a fun hill climb a few miles from there, but there was a posted sign right away at the top of the hill. :(

There are a lot of campsites and bike / horse trails in the park. Lots of gates, too... maybe some of them will open in the summer. So I think it will take some time to figure out what's available for motor vehicles. I might have time Saturday if you want to go on a scouting mission.

It looks like I have more time Friday if that would work for you at all. On Saturday I'd only have about an hour or two around 2ish. Lmk if you wanna go for that mission.

Eh I'm pretty booked tomorrow. I'd say go do what you can if you have time. If nothing else, it's a nice area to drive around.

PM me if you have time around 2 on Saturday. I'd still love to ride with someone even for a little.

That’s about 50% skill and 50% luck. I mean just a hair less traction and the truck just slides down into the hole.

@Brownmatthall @JDUB-Fabrication and I are in the area and, not to speak for them, would probably be up for wrenching in exchange for food and beer. I did 5100s/885s and an AAL on my truck

I’ll stop by too if I’m free. I’m in Newburgh 3-4 times a week for work anyway.

It's not a bad job. I'm not far away and have done 5100's/change to OME's/886's and rear spring and shock changes a couple times. I have limited time to help out though. Best thing I did was have the front coilovers built first, then super easy to swap in.... especially on a truck that doesn't have 150+k worth of rusty stick bolts/alignment cams.

I’ll be swapping coil overs and brakes this Saturday if anyone is around and interested in watching/helping and learning some new foul language...near Schenectady/Clifton Park.
Replacing the 5100s with broken Toytech (eibach) spring, installing a set of Ranchos. Then new rotors and pads.

I hope your alignment cams aren't seized, that makes the foul language even more interesting

I’ve been soaking everything in liquid wrench for a week, and I’ve been pretty good about fluid film since I installed them three years ago, so I’m hoping it goes OK.:fingerscrossed:
