While I have 3 storm drains on my property, I would never do that.

I get roped into the oddest things sometimes.

We had a company install some doors on campus and instead of using the 4.5"h x4.5"w hinges we use as our standard, they used the 4.5"hx4"w hinges that came with the doors.

In talking to them about switching them out, they apparently fed some BS line about the swing and clearance on the door frame on the strike side.

So I was asked to draw up what the difference would be.

    Door swing.jpg

The blue is the 4" wide hinge, red is the 4.5". With the door open, sure, the door falls in a different spot because the pivot point has physically moved 1/4". On the strike side, though (see enlarged) there is, according to AutoCAD, 0/256" difference.

Lazy idjit just doesn't want to switch out 21 hinges.

Powdercoater brought this back on their box truck and was going to pick the other one up. Their truck is 84” tall at the door, the frame is 87” :annoyed:

We have an actual service station that still pumps gas and does small repairs ,tires, lube and oil. I take mine there and sit out front on the picnic table with the other local old guys and have a Mt Dew. Oil change and tire rotation at the same time.

My wife's coworker's kid just got his license a few weeks ago. He was driving home from their lake house last weekend and was clocked at 105 in a 70 zone.

It's only illegal if you get caught... how'd he like the silver bracelets?

edit: one of these is cheaper than every ticket it saves you from and the insurance rate going up. https://www.cobra.com/products/rad3...VtJH36pEe1Vmw0z4MytE1lDgZWusMU1RoCdSIQAvD_BwE

There was a question as to if it was a felony or misdemeanor but I have no idea what the outcome was.
A device to aid him in speeding is probably the last thing a 16 year old needs!

I don't know what the law is down where you guys are, but up here in Maine anything 30 over is criminal.

I grew up with my folks both having radar detectors in their vehicles, but they insisted to wait until I was 21 to buy one myself so I could learn how to read the road and traffic for potential cops and not be totally reliant on one.

It was in Minnesota and to be honest, I've never looked into speeding laws and tickets because it's just simpler to not speed. :notsure:

I try not to speed, don't always happen. I have to constantly tell my wife to slow down when she's driving.

I gave up on that 20 years ago. If she gets a ticket, she gets a ticket.

Then I get to rub it in.
