Hahaha... very possible! It says they shipped a while ago but the shipping number doesn't work in any of our US carriers and I don't know what carriers they use.

If ordering from PowerBulbs it is typically Royal Mail.

Ah, i see it says that in some fine print in one of my emails. Either way says free shipping (what i chose) is 5-10 business days... I placed the order 13 days ago so they'll most likely show up this week. Super stoked to complete this mod.

FINALLY got the headlights in and installed them.

Trying out the Osram Cool Blue Boost 90/100 right now. They do ok, but can definitely tell they are missing some punch....

Going to toss the normal Osram 90/100 in this week.

I’ll post some comparative pics between the two. Positive the normal Osrams will do so much better.

Every once in awhile, I have had US Customs return a PowerBulb order. PowerBulbs notifies me, asks if I want to attempt shipping again and then the reship has never failed.

Mine did show up yesterday... pretty much right on time. My impatience got the better of me!

I'll probably tackle this mod either thursday/friday or sometime this weekend.

Ok, I will probably get flamed for this but I’ve done this to many bulbs. If you think you will hurt the glass and or quarts then don’t try it... I’ve done this lately to Osram All-weather bulbs but it takes off blue coating too! I did this way back when because I’ve always hated blue lights when they should be white! My father was an autobody man & painter, when we got over spray on stainless, chrome & glass the best way to remove it was with fine steelwool. Now use a little common sense when rubbing off the coatings...
Take a little masking tape and tape off the end of the bulb. Now take 0000/finest steelwool and rub/polish off the outside coating. Remove masking tape clean with liberal amounts of rubbing alcohol to clean oil off the glass and or quartz. Install and they work perfectly for a long time and they are now white or a resemblance of...

Makes me wonder how the the H11 Osram CBB would perform if a strip surrounding the filaments coating was removed similar to how the Nightbreaker Laser is. Hmmmm

Damnit, so I went to do this mod now that i have my HeadlightService harness and my OSRAM bulbs. I think my aftermarket headlights won't work with this setup. My low beam and high beam are two different bulbs so hopefully you guys can help me out. Here are some pictures of my headlights from the front and back marked with where everything is:

    IMG_2907.jpg

    IMG_2908.jpg

and here are the bulbs I bought:

    IMG_2909.jpg

So I think because these headlights have separate low beam and high beam bulbs this won't work because the new harness has just a single connection per side. When i bought the aftermarket headlights I didn't have to change any of the wiring and I honestly don't think i had to buy multiple sets of bulbs either (low beam specific and high beam specific... but maybe i did. This was years ago). I still have my OEM headlights so i guess i could always revert back to them. I actually really like these headlights and they have great cutoff and all that so if possible i'd like to keep them on. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Yes, you're SOL with those headlights. The Ultimate Headlight Upgrade is designed to work with a dual filament H4 bulb - which you have. Those dual filaments are for low and high beams. The aftermarket headlights that you have utilize separate low and high beams - which use different single filament bulbs. So the H4's are not going to fit either the high or low beam slots. And modifying the HD harness would be pointless because the headlight connectors are different and the number of connectors is wrong.

The good news is that your OEM headlights - which you say you still have - will work perfectly with the new H4 bulbs and HD harness. I think you'll find that the OEM housings with the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade will totally blow away anything you can do with those aftermarket housings.

Just put the original housings back in. That is what this mod is for and will give you the best possible light output.

Alas, yes it is. It went to a good home. Hopefully I'm still welcome here. At least I still drive a Toyota product - or two.

Ya this will give me a chance to really clean up my OEM lenses. I can't remember why exactly I switched to aftermarket ones... if I recall, i got sucked into a TW group buy, haha. Ok ok, not SOL yet!

Group buy for reduced performance inferior lights, I'm sure it was from a highly reputable seller... Be sure to post your thoughts after getting them installed and going out in some dark roads. To say the difference will be night and day is likely going to be a significant understatement.

Got the ol' OEM lights down from the attic. They are in much better condition that I remember. I think just a quick polish and they'll be good to go... no wet sanding even needed. Question though, I'm going to put these back on... what's the best way to keep them protected from the sun? Just consistent waxing/ceramic spray?

I remember some solid discussion on this topic in the OEM LED megathread in 3rd gen forum but it'll take some digging to find it. I suspect it'd be worth the time. Probably a few months ago.

My "solution" is that I park with my nose facing north so direct sun is blocked. Not a great solution but low effort :p
