I'm in the middle of an engine swap, I am swapping out my 2007 engine for a 2011. I accidentally pulled out a wire that comes from the left of the brake booster. Its orange and it was connected to the drivers side cylinder right next to the starter. I did my best to circle it, ill get s better pic when I'm home. The connector is orange.

Too little information for any kind of guess or speculation.

    We might need better pics.
The only wires I see that are Orange going to the brake booster arw

    1. Power to the skid control ECU (with VSC)
    2. Rear Speed Sensor
    3. Reverse Lamp In Dash

And that’s if it is going to the Skid Control unit.
Which is a total guess based on the pics.

Probably don’t need it then. Install new engine, start it, see what happens.

In all honesty if you need it I don’t think you’ll have to cherry pick the engine to replace it.

He may need it if his truck was equipped with the wire.
If his didn’t have the plug to start with, it may not be needed?

    But I’m with you.
Drop it in, start it, and look for codes.

At this point, I wouldn’t let a wire keep me from continuing the swap.

Let us know what you find out OP.

My thoughts exactly. Doubt it’ll keep it from starting. It’s not a Nissan. You don’t need to remove the engine to replace a brake line. Plenty of room to rewire if needed.
