Update... no surprise it’s head gaskets. I don’t think I could have had a better outcome. Dealer is taking truck to Toyota to have gaskets replaced! Is there anything I should have replaced when they are tearing it apart? Not much maintenance at 85k. I’d assume it would be all gaskets anyway. Plugs were just replaced already by me. Water pump I’d think would be fine to leave. It’s easy enough to change out if leaks in the future. Thoughts?

Thought so too. Hoping this was a fluke.

Anyone have a guess where this wet oil might be from? I told Toyota about it, but they didn’t seem to think it was any reason to be concerned. Just want to know what it’s from or if anyone else has seen this. Not a big deal to me, but if I’m gonna fix it, do it right!

Hard to tell for sure at that angle but looks like rear main crankshaft seal starting to seep a bit.

Yeah it does look like the rear seal. I would have it fixed, let them know about it.

Judging by the pics on page 1, this engine was probably overheated at some point, or a super caustic chemical flush was performed and the chems were left in way too long. I wouldn't consider this isolated incident "an issue" for 07+ 1GR-FE engines, by any stretch of the imagination.

Geez, 2 leaks on this truck. Have you considered returning it? Can you even?

Finally got my ride back. They fixed head gaskets, rear main, and wrapped in mouse tape. No charge to me. I also got new coolant out of it and the valve intake replaced as well because the tech said he broke a bolt on it or something. How convenient. . Now time to drive it!
