I’m mixing in others shows but when I have 30 minutes or so, it’s that or Bobs burgers. Hard to be disappointed with them so far.

I just finished Justified on Hulu. It streams in 4K. Probably one of my favorite series up there with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Justified was a really good show. Between that and Deadwood, Timothy Olyphant plays a southern Marshall really well lol.

I read an article recently that theres a new show in the works off a book by the same author Justified was based on that involves Raylan Givens as the main character again

Tom Clancy’s - Jack Ryan (Prime Video). Generally its ok. Things that bugs me: CIA manager who picks up random women in Venezuela and leaves his mission file on the desk for her to read. Also he’s a major boy scout. I want to like this series, but can only give it a C.

Started City on a Hill, Boston PD/FBI crime saga tv series taking place in the mid 90s. Produced by Affleck and Damon, feels like one of their Boston heist movies but in tv series format. Really into it so far, Kevin Bacon is great in it.

Its on Showtime, watching it via Hulu but need a Showtime subscription.

I would agree it's "okay" It's kind of a conglomeration of characters and scenes from the books, but the age/timeframes are off. I like Jon Krasinski as Jack Ryan, but at his age he was a junior analyst and it would have been during the Cold War, about 30 years earlier. Greer, would be very old and retired (He died in Clear and Present Danger). 30 years prior, he was the DDO/CIA IIRC. I don't think he was ever a field agent, Station Chief, a Muslim, or as flawed as he is written in the current series.

I've read all of Clancy's books and the ones Greaney co-wrote. I've always enjoyed the stories and thought the characters were interesting. Clancy writes a lot of back story and his characters often highlight the best and the brightest people from different cultures, though he clearly wrote many of his top characters as Jesuit educated, Irish Catholics like himself. Now, Clancy's character set has become a franchise with multiple authors. I've seen some reprints of earlier books with Krasinski's image on the cover. I feel like what Clancy created is just being milked for revenue at this point. Clancy wrote his characters with a chronology, he didn't do reboots and reimaginations of them.

I mentioned it earlier, but I'll put it out there again, The Son, on Hulu is really good and wraps up nicely. Also, I watched The Dig on Amazon last night and really liked it. It was a true story and well done. Lots of the movies made by Netflix and Hulu, I end up not finishing because the writing just drifts or the story or production don't keep my interest. From my own personal perspective, once the story drifts into SJW messaging, I generally lose interest and eject.

It is really good. Was surprised I hadn't heard of it until recently.

Your Honor on Showtime is a really good 1 season mini series as well

I’ve been watching the irregulars on Netflix. It does a terrible job of being true to the Sherlock Holmes “universe” but is entertaining.

The Leftovers on HBO is killer. May take a few episodes to get going, but once it does it’ll have you hooked. Great ending as well.

I was wondering what happened to this thread!

Docu on Disney/Nat Geo, Continent 7, a little dry, but stinking fascinating what goes on in their summer (Dec-Jan-Feb)........too damned cold. Winter? Forget about it. Different planet.

Godzilla vs. Kong :anonymous: On HBO Max

Its primarily about the lizard fighting the monkey. Not too much more to it. Lucy has a lot of splaining to do about the hollow earth physics and how the monkey pit got there. Maybe “Predator(s)” constructed it? Reguardless CG is good. I would rate this a “watchable escapist” movie, but don’t expect a life changing experience.
