Heads up: Good-to-Go foods is doing 25% off all of their meals at their website, ends tonight at midnight. We have tried and like the chicken gumbo, Thai curry, and chicken pho.

    Hi,
    I'm in STL.
    Pic of my rig attached.

I know people tend to keep their camping spots to themselves, but looked back and saw some great pics.. I'd love to know where this is:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacos-in-st-louis-area.22598/page-1344#post-25291952
but understand if you won't tell or it's not public land.

I've been going out to the national forest a couple times a month, just down random forest roads and camping. Been great! I was worried I'd have to drive for 12 hours to the mountains to find anything good, but MO has been great!
If anyone has other suggestions I'd love to hear them. (pm if you don't want to share it w/ the world :) )

Also looking for a good shop in the area.. I posted a thread to the general midwest section here asking for advice.

What kind of wo..... Damn it that's been asked.

Welco..... Well that's been said too.

Uh.... Sweet rig. That's like, Broverlander Extreme

Also this is a pretty chill crew, if you ever need work done feel free to ask and here is a lot of us go over to each other's places and help with the wrenching if you don't want to spend a million dollars at a shop. For specialty or shop work we also have some good connections around town East, West, North, and South.

    Thanks!

At the moment, it just needs tires and an alignment. Tires aren't critical, but pretty worn for KO2's. My concern there is I've read threads on various forums which say to be sure whoever aligns it is used to working on lifted vehicles. I'm not sure how much that really matters... But it needs to be aligned before my next long trip next month.

It also doesn't stop fast enough, which I'm not sure can be fixed. It's likely due to the weight, but I'm not sure what's normal/expected w/ this sort of thing. The truck isn't insanely heavy, but does have the heavy E rated ko2's. Rotational mass apparently makes a big difference in stopping. The brakes do engage w/ a light touch, but just barely.. Then don't make any real stopping power until I am pushing hard. I've never gotten them to lock up (outside of icy conditions).

I'm also just looking for a good shop in the area in case I need one.
First owner had it built and serviced at a great shop on the east coast who specializes in these off road camper Tacomas. 2nd owner did the same, but on the west coast at a big famous offroad outfitter. Now I've got it..

Just let them know if you have adjustable UCAs or if you're shooting for a certain Caster #. Most of them can figure out the rest.

    I know I've got aftermarket (ARB I think) UCA's.
And I had a set of parameters (caster, etc) written down, but might have lost it by now. It was just info from a thread, probably on this forum. I need to read up on all that again anyway.
And thanks, that's what I was wondering. They've all got the laser alignment machines. Seems like if they know what I want, anyone could set it up.
