It can and does happen. In CA, it's assault with a deadly weapon and REALLY illegal if someone intentionally does that. CHP will pull someone over ASAP if they see shit like that.

When I’m in the fast lane I pull into the shoulder when I see bikers coming behind me and they always do that two finger salute at me.

 

It probably doesn't fit through a standard size bay door on them.


I have a pile of 33s for rollers because the tacoma barely fits the garage door on 35s. 40s would be a no go

Yup. We appreciate people that actually move over a little like that.

More often then not, people that try to move out of a bikers way are really better off just staying where they are and holding their line and let the biker make their way around them. Much safer for both parties that way.

 

I'd like to see you put a one ton axle under the front without any lift

 

cheep options for sleeping pads? Looks like ill need to buy some of the off brand walmart foam pads for 20 a piece

 

I have no real response to this, but when I was still ground tent camping my thermarest pads were nice and packed up real small afterward. I have a single inflatable mini mattress still and its okayish.

 

When backpacking with my dad, we used those inflatable pads that were about the same length/width as your body...never cared for them. Hardly much better than sleeping on the ground. But then again they were meant to be packed up into a backpacking tent so theres some compromising there

If its for the back of the truck, I would look into an actual twin bed sized inflatable mattress or something that will fit between the wheel wells.

 

This is one place where I wouldn't cheap out.

I have 2-3- different Nemo sleeping pads; they're pricey (100-200 ea) because they're ultralight and I use them for backpacking but they're comfortable enough that I use them for tent camping and sleeping in the 4R.

Or you can go with an inflatable type like @xtremewlr for not a lot of money.

Again, a good night's rest is worth paying for.

 

Still helpful feedback as always, ill check that brand.

Just want something to go under the sleeping bags to even out the sleeping space, not gonna do a wood platform build for the bed.

 

Forgot to mention, the pads I use are insulated with an R rating, meaning they'll retain some heat and keep you from feeling like the ground layer is cold.

That's why im asking around, im tired of always having a rock under my low back or hip. Feel like getting a good sleep is a good majority of what can make/break a camp trip. Of course now with the camper i just need to deal with the bed ridges, which is why i want the pads/

Ill look into nemo as well, lots of "self inflating" pads including coleman for decent price. If @xtremewlr likes his

 

I've always used the self inflating thermarests for backpacking/motocamping. My current one came from campmor as sort of a mil surplus thing. The other one I've heard of is Exped.

Make sure to get a full length, the 3/4 length ones leave your feet cold.


thinking about getting a cot though for car camping.

 

cheapest one I can recommend is the REI Co-op AirRail.

The walmart foam ones never worked for me and had me feeling every pebble anyways but I'm a lot fatter than you.
