    Of course.

I usually hit up ebay and Amazon and buy from which ever is cheapest. They usually have bundle deals ex. 6 qts 0W20 for $40

Just greased the fittings on my 2017 off-road. Found 2, both on the front propeller shaft. One is covered by a small skid plate at the front of the transfer case and easy to miss (probably already been mentioned in this thread - my apologies if it has)

Check out this post: 3rd Gen DIY maintenance quick reference

Short Answer: Amazon pump thing is very overpriced and tiring. Buy a empty catsup bottle at the dollar store ($1-2), rig up a short amount of clear tubing; takes 2-3 refills of the bottle and your done, just as messy maybe a little less than the rip off pump and faster in the end.

About to pull the trigger on fluids for front/rear diff since im at 37k miles, going to go with Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 since it comes in the easy pack quart bag, should make refilling a breeze. And Redline MT-90 for the manual trans fluid swap. Based on what i'm reading about the Transfer case, i'll probably wait to do the fluid swap, everyone seems to say when they flushed at 30k it was clean as new.

Did all mine at 60K miles...front diff dirty, rear diff pretty clean, Trans not bad but MT-90 is way worth it and TC was clean clean clean...good call

Did you notice better shifting with the MT90?

Yep...now it wasn't earth shattering difference but it was a smoother difference for sure. Most notablly 2nd to 1st downshifts at a slow roll...much easier engagement. You will be happy with the Redline.

I noticed a slight difference from 1st>2nd, and downshifting from 2nd>1st. I didn't have a smooth shift in either, and now have a slight, noticeable improvement-- I would recommend changing to Redline MT.

This might have been posted before. With covid around this past year or so, I have not been driving nearly as much.

Have a newer 3rd gen and it has been six months with barely 2500 miles put on.

I see in the maintenance guide 5k or every six months. I have read posts 5k inspection, tire rotation etc. Then at 10k oil changes.

I don't want to wait until 10k, before changing my oil and since so little miles driven in six months.

Since it has been six months but way under 5k miles, just get my oil changed at least correct?

I will wait for tire rotation at this point. Any other suggestions?

Its been beaten to death on this subject, some will wait the full 10k that is recommended for 1st oil change, others will swap fluids out early because they consider it "break in". I do all my own maintenance, so it was cheap and easy for me to swap, so I changed oil at 1000 miles. There were some metal and other stuff in it, but nothing unexpected from a new motor. It's your car and investment, do what you are comfortable with. If you are on the fence about swapping fluids, just do it. You'll have peace of mind. Thats what i did.

Thank you. The dealer is stuck on recommend doing at 10000 miles or 1 year, even if no where close to 10k for oil change (shrugs). One other person told me 10 months if not driving much.

I will have it changed sooner for piece of mind, after what you told me you found in your oil just after 1k miles!

I have that toyota care and should be free.

Keep in mind if you use your Toyota care for early changes, you will have to pay for them eventually! Basically you get 2 free oil changes (10k and 20k) however you choose to use them is on you.

I hear you and what they mentioned as well. I just can't justify waiting 10 months to one year or 10k for an oil change, especially when not driving as much.

And you're positive they changed your oil every 5k? Its 5k for tire rotations and 10k for oil changes per Toyota

I'm still stuck on this 6 months or 5,000 miles. I mean I know it is 10 months to a year or 10,000 miles for the oil change, but what if you're not driving as much?

for me 6 months and 2,500 miles so far.
