Especially since you could argue that the Bronco Sport won't spend any significant time off road. Convincing people that the wide cornering optic is a replacement for proper fog lights was the worst thing that BD could have done for enthusiasts.

To me wire is wire is wire (to an extent). The connector for the DD SS3 is 18awg. I have a whole bunch of 16awg speaker wire at home. Any reason I can't use speaker wire to wire up my fogs? I'll make sure to use braided sleeving no matter what wire I use to protect the wire.

 

Depends on the insulation of said wire. What is it's; temp rating, voltage rating, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance

Those are good questions. It's Amazon Basics speaker cable. I can't find the specs. I would imagine home speakers are pulling way more power than these LED lights. I don't know. I am wrapping the wire with braided sleeving to protect against abrasion.

 

Ampacity is not the issue, its the insulator rotting away and shorting out is the issue

take a few inches rub some oil on it and leave it in a really hot place for a few weeks and see how it holds up

I love the Rigid 6" SAEs combined with the Rigid 360 SAEs in the fog location. The 360s have a very wide pattern and the 6" bars are VERY bright. They are the same color temp. In heavy snow you could just run them and be totally safe. Very bright and controlled.

 

It would appear the Morimoto SAE fogs area actually manufactured by Esuse and just relabeled as a Morimoto product.

The housing is way too small to shed the heat but an SSC 1 pod with a luminus sbt90 LED driven at anything near full power would be nuts.

Hmm, a new SAE j583 fog (claimed 1670 lux @ 10ft) and SAE j581 (claimed 3160 lux @ 10ft) pod on the block. Looks like many of the other foreign ones. But they are pretty cheap!!!

$70 for a knockoff product, vs $90 for the real deal... not sure that's too cheap!

1670 lux at 10 feet (10 feet? Really?) would be over 15K candela. That is physically impossible with a 20W power rating and a SAE fog pattern. Nevermind the inefficient far-lens fog optic.

It is disappointing that many people will waste money on this junk. So many Chinese manufacturers who are just constantly trolling for new products to copy.
