This has to be the most unlucky yet lucky situation I’ve ever seen. That’s wild glad you and your dogs are okay OP. Hope it’s not too much of a hassle dealing with.

Does anyone else see an old lady with a gun?

the good news is his MESO gas cap holder is intact.

the really good news is his nitrous tank is still full.

Glad you are unharmed. Your dog looks pretty chill about the whole thing.

Damn! I’m not sure if that’s just bad luck or if that tree was out to assassinate OP? Glad you and the dogs are okay!

First, I'm glad you and the two idiots are safe!

Second, how did you move the 70' tree off your truck?

Third, when does the part out begin?

Looks like a pretty easy fix though. Roof skin, and a full bed. Chances are they will source a take off bed from a junk yard, new roof skin from the dealer. You'll be back up and running in 2 weeks or less.

Can't believe that glass did not crack and the cab has the high strength steel unlike other gens which is good.

It looks like all that separated you from some really bad luck is maybe 6 feet or so. A new bed should do wonders and I'm sure a good body shop can handle the cab.

It might be totaled. High strength steel in the cab section is not repairable. The whole top of the cab needs to be replaced possibly. I believe the area damaged has hss. Might only be in the pillars. If that hss is deformed in any way it's a replacement. Comments from adjusters ?

    https://www.repairerdrivennews.com/...or-company-in-north-america-first-on-a-truck/

    http://news.crrtraining.com/working-with-toyotas-high-strength-steel-and-ultra-high-strength-steel/
"Once a reinforcement is deformed by an impact the integrity of the steel is compromised and would be made worse if it were to be straightened by any repair method. This is why damaged HSS and UHSS occupant cabin reinforcements must be replaced with only Genuine New OE Service Parts."

I didn't know that about the hss top. That would be a real bummer to have to total it.

    Jesus! Glad you’re ok!

I had an old beater, solid axle swapped F150 a few years back. I was trying to fix up the interior a little bit and was looking for (I think) the A pillar trim piece and a few others. Found an ad on CL where a dude was parting one out. Got to his house and the passenger side of the roof of the cab was touching the seat back. The driver’s side was fairly unscathed. I asked him what happened. He was driving down the road (that I had to drive up to get to his house!!!!) and a fucking boulder just rolled off the mountain, fell about 30-40 off a cliff, and he just happened to be where it landed. He had no passenger, thank goodness, and he was unharmed, physically. I still think about it every time I drive by a tall section of rock on the road.

This. This scares me the most. Driving by rocky cliffs. Saw a rock slide near here recently. Would have killed anyone driving by at the time.
OP, glad you and the pups are ok!
