    And on that note....

Just got a call from Progressive and they’re going to fix it. New roof, headliner, and bed comes to $14,700 and change.

Once they pull the bed, they can figure out if the frame got tweaked. There’s a 3 month wait on frames currently, just FYI.

Also, don’t put off calling your insurance to update them with any mods you’ve done to your truck. I’m not getting enough to cover my bakflip because I put it off.

Damn, the definition of bad luck. At least you won't see any evidence of the accident once everything is replaces. We don't look at the roof too often. Hopefully you won't need a frame either. Sending you good juju.

State farm always just asked me for receipts for the part. If I couldnt find one they found the MSRP online and gave me 80% of the value of the parts. I cant leave my cars alone so unfortunately ive done this dance a few times.

Glad you are ok and I hope your truck is fixable.
Did the people behind you stop and see if you were ok? Or did they just drive by and go "Woof! Sucks to be that guy!"

WOW! Glad you're OK. We had that scenario (trees and big limbs falling) this winter with 2 back-to-back bad ice storms. I was really careful of the wind direction and where I parked the Tacoma when checking the traplines! (Not under trees!)

At least you will have one of the better "y'all ain't gonna believe what happened to me" stories at your next party! This certainly could have been much worse for you brother; glad you and the pups are OK!

PS: I had a yellow lab that was the dumbest dog I ever owned! He would literally walk into walls. But he was as sweet as they come and would retrieve birds all day long.

Because we were driving uphill, it bounced off the bed and ended up behind the truck on the road.

Thank god you and the dogs weren't a half second slower. I don't think I ever want to drive near trees after seeing that. You should grab a lottery ticket and to see how far that incredible luck goes.

So just as a follow-up to this story, I still don't have my truck back from the repair shop.

They've had to replace the roof, the rear glass, headliner, the entire bed (the composite bed itself twice, because the first one from Toyota was cracked), and a ton of other components.

I got a call today that she was fully reassembled and waiting on the final QC check, then I'd be able to go pick it up.

Then, two hours later, I got a call that every light on the dash was illuminated and that it'd have to go to the dealership for further repair prior to my getting it.

And because I only had 30 days of rental car coverage, I've been without a ride for a week. LOL. That tree really stuck it in and broke it off.

Damn. Did it just topple or neighbors cut it down? My uncles neighbor cut down their tree and it fell onto his house and damaged the roof.

Soil saturated from many days of rain, and then a windstorm came through and blew it over. Those pines do not have deep root bases.

Never again. I spent about 4 thousand dollars cutting down 12 pines from where it came from. Out of my own pocket.

    Check build thread!
Dudeeeee, I had the same thing happen! I was on my Husky TE300i, back in 2019 tho. Last 20 minutes of a 24 hour enduro race, I stopped to avoid a wreck and well.... was attacked by a tree. I got launched by the tree as it hit me across the back. Bike had about 30 hours on it, basically snapped it in half and also punched a hole in the clutch cover. I did end up fixing it. Glad you're okay!
