A little of this and a little of that.
I have a neighbor guy that is a maintenance manager for an apartment complex. The end and beginning of each month is when people will skip out of their apartments and leave stuff behind. A few months ago he was able to get a bunch of stuff that had been left by previous tenants and asked if I could use anything. I went over to his house and saw a Cuisinart cast iron skillet (coated) that was still in the box and looked unused. I offered to pay him for it, but it didn’t cost him anything, and we help each other out with different projects all the time.
Anyway, long story but I finally put together a Frittata with peppers, onions, kale, potatoes, tomatoes, pepperoni, diced ham, shredded cheese, and 8 eggs. It was delicious.

I don't understand people sometimes. My dad owns a property management company along with a bunch of rentals and the stuff people leave behind is unbelievable. I mean, most of the time its just garbage but I once got a whole Crate and Barrel bedroom set that was basically brand new. Good deal with the skillet!

Spent most of yesterday re-seasoning all of my cast iron. The four on bottom I acquired from a family friend a few months back and they were in rough shape (see before picture).

The Wagner 6 on the bottom right still needs some work. I didn't like how it turned out when I stripped it so it sat in the garage until yesterday when I put two coats of seasoning on it. Now I'm thinking I should go back to it with some fine sandpaper and smoothen it out a bit.

glad to have found this thread...
just got my first piece of CI...a small lodge skillet for camping.
is it really ready to use from the factory as advertised, or does it need more seasoning?
    any tips? thx.

I usually end up doing a good season, can try cooking some eggs or bacon and see how it does.
