Took the old dog for a ride in the truck which doesn’t happen too often anymore since I had kids. Needless to say he was pretty excited to go for a drive.

    Yeah.
Thanks for the censoring, this is a family-friendly thread, lol.

This guy goes nuts for the first 20 minutes in the truck, he LOVES going camping. Which is weird because he's kind of prissy, has to have his own chair. Last trip he kept whining at me, finally figured out it was because I hadn't set the chairs up yet.

Yeah, I was debating if I should leave it or not, but decided I didn’t want to get banned over a crab leg.

This beer is for sale around Tampa from Motorworks Brewery. Every brew has a new dog they adopt out from the local humane society. Apparently, they can't keep up with the amount of dogs that get adopted.
    I think it's pretty great :)

    Yeah.
LOL, yeah, they are full of drama. I always see yours off leash, would love to feel comfortable doing that. At least they respect the fence.

Off leash Shiba is a difficult task but not impossible:thumbsup: When people that know Shibas see us out and off leash they are always amazed. Our old Shiba lived to almost 16. It wasn’t until he was 8 or 9 that I could walk in town with him by my side. I actually had a breeder deny us a puppy because I sent her pics of him snowboarding, skiing, SUPing, hiking while not leashed. She thought I was irresponsible I guess. I think she had never seen one that was so well behaved. A lot of breeders specifically state that their dogs should never be off leash and that you need a fenced yard :notsure: but from what I’ve seen some of these breeders have very misbehaved Shibas that run around their backyards like a wild pack of wolves that are barking and sorta out of control. This guy (Nikko) is only 2 and is doing pretty darn good but not quite in town without a leash, but closer at this age than our old one:D I suggest lots of on-leash training with very small doses of off leash (to start) with little to no distractions and shit tons of positive reinforcement, and very limited doses of any type of negative energy. They’ll remember the negative forever and it’s hard to make them forget.494664B4-EEA2-449C-93DB-964D46722593.jpg

    Yeah.
Our male (Kojun) is 7 now, and he's a much mellower and sweeter dog than when he was young. He's a bit high-strung and very territorial, though. I can take him pretty much anywhere and he's fine on lead, but he's socially inept when meeting other dogs. He hits it off with very few, as most of them don't take to him getting in their face and yelling at them. If he got loose back at our old place with no yard, he would beeline it to the neighbor's back door, trying to get in to play with their dog. She was the love of his life, there's been no other. She was twice his size and would pummel him, and he didn't care.

Our female (Yuuki) is 3 now, and she's just like an annoying little sister. Quite the character, with a bit of a mean streak. If she gets Kojun playing and it gets too rough for her, you can see that switch flip and she gets really pissed. Kojun sees it, too, and quickly tries to exit the situation. I always tell her, "Don't start none, there won't be none." We're pretty good at catching it before it escalates to that point, though. She's a bit better at social cues and meeting other dogs and children, but she has her own odd quirks.

With the right amount of work, I could probably get both of them to a point where I could trust them in a place with limited distractions. I'm just usually in situations where it isn't a good time to give it a try.

    Evening,

Hope you are having a good night. That is Oreo, my rescue kitty. I am into animals. I have her, my mastiff, a macaw, and 2 reef tanks. I am a bit of a goof, so I use the Oreo’s picture for fun:bananadance:

Edit, I left out waffles my shi- tzu
