Doesn't matter. It's TP-Link. That means it's really fast for three days. Then you get to call non-existent costumer service to get it warrantied. Crap software. Crap hardware.

Do you have a spare USB 3.0 port on the rig?

I put in a ridiculous amount of time on my racing sim right now. I do nerd out and play some League of Legends too. Its unknown if I can have a wired connection without running a 30 ft cable. a 3D tour online showed only one ethernet port in the living area of the apartment. it is only a 3d tour though and that was of a display room the complex has so in the unknown right now.
    upload_2021-4-9_19-34-32.jpg
Thats what I've got using the wall plug to ethernet signal carrier thing. We only pay for 50 down anyway since we dont need it really. Not terrible loss there, but 80 ping on League and 100 on the racing sim servers isnt ideal.

Your connection is fine (by US standards which are...yah whatever) unless you want to try for a CS:GO professional slot. 80 ping on league shouldn't kill you, but the 100 ping on the sims might give you a bit of a disadvantage if you're racing in multiplayer.

I pay $130 a month for a 300/50 connection and I'm still really pissed about it.

I'm not too serious with anything as of right now. Ideally I just dont want my connection to be worse than it is currently, since I'm on a downgrade from the old house but this may be one of those things that I gotta deal with

You've got roommates too, right? All of that sucks up bandwidth.

My non professional opinion: Hold your GME shares and buy your own house :p

Not when you give your comps MAC address 95% of throughput via router settings. lol

I don't own enough GME to buy a house. Maybe with an FHA loan and a triplex or something similar tho... And a USB plug and play is what I was looking at.

If you have one share, you'll have enough to buy a house if you can stand the turmoil to get to that price

Never had a single problem with this one. Steady connection and my computer is across my house from the router which is about 75' and 5 walls

It works well for all my needs. I play sea of thieves and escape from tarkov and don't really ever have speed issues. My internet isn't the best either.

Ok...I'm using it now. I connected the ethernet cable from my PC to the TPLINK mini router. It's working as a network extender and is connected to my 5ghz wifi. Mind you my pc is still streaming plex to the livingroom roku tv at 5mbs the speed test shows
    [IMG]

My access point is this guy, it's through multiple wall and mounted inverted in the attic..I get wifi 100+ yards away :)

Oh I have FiOS 1GIG so here's my wired results...
I've got a few things using some bandwidth right now...
Oh and my access point is also TPLINK Archer 2300..
    ZERO ISsues...
and the TETHER ap lets me reboot if it seems funky
I'm rolling TERABYTES through this thing

I had a NON MIMO access point before this...I run a lot of stuff...it was dying all the time. Since it's in the attic (Yes, I also rigged up a cooling fan :) ) I marked the breaker that you cycle to reset the router because the wifi would lock up every few days...
I realized I was just overtaxing the poor little fella and upgraded to the AC2300. It's been beautiful
and again the Tether app allows for remote reboot!

at least someone has had a good time with TP link. Good stuff right there.
For simplicity's sake this may be the way to go.
