The forest... I don't care where.

Sounds like @Motofox needs to come too.

Possibly Sunday drive? I like Sunday (day trips) in the early season.

    I appreciate it

I dont and shouldnt need thanking or anything. I just wish i could have asked the masses, "what if that was your daughter? or your father? or wife?" upon reflection im sure most people would see my point. Maybe that thought process is foreign to some. I was just raised a certain way it seems, it always feels like a dying breed but everyone i know was raised the same way. I know there are many of us good people out there, it just hurts every time i get a glimpse of the rest of humanity.

I wish, ive got plans with the lady this weekend, probably helping my little brother move next weekend (he bought his first house, a block away from my apartment) and in the middle of all of that... a crazy work schedule, job interviews (thankfully on zoom)

Im pretty boned until May, where im hoping to get out 2 or 3 times in preparation for my june trip. (maybe NRT, may 8th? :boink:) edit: or 15th even better lol

I'll bring it up to the lady and see if we can alter plans for a sunday funday, but no promises

Try doing what I do. Expect everyone to be dipshits. Since I have that expectation I don't get pissed at humanity. Instead I get pleasantly surprised when I meet someone who isn't a dipshit. lol

Not 100% positive NRT is open in May. Seems like 1st week of June is when 5N01 opens up. Not positive.

The 108 natives may be able to shed light on that one. @nDub @Drtgrl @Pickeledpigsfeet

Really depends on when they open eagle meadows. Which is pretty far back and high in elevation. Unfortunately the gate for that whole region is right at 108.

Feels like it’ll be early this year with the warm weather. I’d hedge towards early June. Late May if we’re lucky.

They are working on 108 right now though. Might see the pass open in the next few weeks.

I read a report somewhere that they should have Tioga and Sonora open this weekend (least that's what I think I saw)

It was an article posted on one of the Backpacking or Hunting pages on FB

Thing that has sucked the last couple years is the Fires have shut 5N01 down, seems like right after they open it.

Not a chance that Tioga opens this weekend. The plowing updates don't start until the 15th. Which means they haven't started plowing yet. Sure, it was a low snow year but it wasn't that low. lol

That is much more likely. Sonora is open way before Tioga every year. I do hope we get an early open for Tioga this year. May 1st would be rad.

Yeah that’s pretty accurate. Last week of May maybe, beginning of June is pretty normal (snow dependent). The pass is now open up to Eagle Meadows so they are working on it. Probably at least a few more weeks until they open the pass

Been busy trying to get my Egr system code p0401 to go out on my 97 land cruiser and I finally got it yesterday and all the monitors but one have ran, so now I can get it smogged today and clean it up from winter and put it up for sale . That said I haven’t had a chance to go out to see where the snow is or isn’t .
