Agree 100% on the extrusion rack, built a platform for about $300 not including the mounting feet and it's so solid that I'm doing another one over my cab. You can mount just about anything to it and all of the Sherpa and Prinsu accesories fit.

What’s the name of those corner pieces you used on your rack?

Lets hope the port is not as backed up as it has been lately. I had a customer send me the same screen shot full of excitement. We have three coming in on this shipment.

this is exactly what I was looking for. How did you mount the bars exactly to the pre-drilled holes?

I just got some bolts from that tnutz store where I got the crossbars. The bolts slide into the extruded aluminum and you can move them to wherever you need. Just slid the bolts in and lined them up with the holes on the topper.

The bolts slide into the bottom rail of the extruded aluminum so you don’t need to drill through it or anything like that.

Any chance of a picture? I understand the bolts slide in at the bottom but I’m trying to understand how you tighten them without room. Do you tighten from the top? I can’t find a picture on their website.

FDF69886-1ED6-4985-AF5D-3ECCBC380A73.jpg I’m assuming you only slide one bolt into grooves and you tighten from the inside of the cab per the arrows? How do you keep the bolt from spinning since you can access the top of the bolt?

The bolts that slide into the aluminum are not round, they're rectangular. Tightening the nuts on the bolts twists them such that the head locks into the channel (the heads can only turn around 40* or so, not spin all the way around). Since the bolt heads cannot spin all the way around, it allows the nut to cinch and secure the aluminum bar to the cap (nut on inside cap, head of bolt securing the bar).

the extruded aluminum basically works in the same way a carriage bolt works. The head of the bolt basically sits inside the groove of the extruded aluminum while the carriage portion of the neck of the bolt is squared off and sits directly in the bottom most part of the aluminum rail. Once the squared off part is situated inside the rail the bolt cannot spin but is free to move along the rail. Basically drop the bolt in the rail move it into position and when you begin to tighten it from the inside of the cap the squared shoulders of the bolt prevent the head from turning and allow you to tighten the bolt. The bolts sold with the 10/20 aluminum rails in the picture below work in this fashion. I will send picture of the bolts in a little while being put into the rail.

excellent that’s for the help all around. The Tnutz site is awesome. I’ll go with the carriage bolt solution.
