My dad was athletic and had bone on bone in both knees. Your pain is real. Sorry, hope the shots help.

    Happy 104 to Maxine!

I too, was bone on bone Tom. It's no fun. I had several years of those shots, but finally had to do the replacements. Two months apart, and a bunch of PT. I don't regret that part a bit, but it's hard to get up from ground level! You are in better shape - start scoping your insurance.

Got to planting the plants out front, and mowing and edging out there. Rex has stated "I did NOT dig those holes!"

Went out back and got some stuff done, about half the veggies potted, but nothing photogenic!

Good morning all and Happy 104th to Maxine!!! How awesome is that!!!??

I'm in the bone on bone club with my right knee - tore it up playing soccer and had surgery at age 17 and almost got a medical discharge from the Army at the 13 year mark...told me in 1990 that I was 5 years away from a knee replacement. 13 years later I retired from the Army...and I still have all my original parts. Motrin is my friend.

Got the Z3 waxed yesterday, will lube the roof and trunk seals one more time today and it's pretty much ready for our trip to NC.

Not much else planned for today. Stay safe out there!

    :hattip: Good Morning

Mark , Good ole "vitamin M" ... Air Force fed it to me for most of my AD career. The VA has for the last 10. Tore the meniscus in my left knee 20 years ago and had it repaired. It gave me some issue 3 yrs ago, luckily PT did the trick and I didn't make it to the shot stage, yet. I'm convinced getting Stitch with manual trans may be the best for my knee; clutch action serves as PT. The knee hasn't bothered me since I got Stitch. :notsure:

Beautiful day, albeit cold and a little windy, on monkey mountain Friday. I'll do a pic dump in our shack thread when I get home this afternoon, and link it here.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Respect :oldglory:

We called it "Lightfighter Candy" when I was in 7th Infantry Division (Light) at Fort Ord, CA and doing quarterly 25 mile ruck marches in full combat gear in 8 hours or less.:rofl:

Stay warm up there. Looking forward to those pics!!

25 in 8 is quite a clip, especially in full gear.

No idea how it'll orient itself when I load "small size," but here's a glimpse:

Good Morning Porchies! :pccoffee: Have to make a run to Lowe's again for little irrigation doo-dads to change things up again. New plan (again). And pick up some shades for a sunroom retrofit project to thrill the wife. Then get back in that heat, and see what the heck happened to my weight loss. Six hours out there and I gained weight? That won't do!

Good Morning everyone. Boy scouts were just here and dropped off 20 3cuft bags of mulch. Fun in the gardens today.

Yesterday's physical did not go too well. Seems I have an irregular heart beat. I have to go back on Monday to have a 24 hour heart monitor put on and then taken off on Tuesday. Doctor was talking to me about a pacemaker. This is not fun.

    Good morning all,

Sorry to hear about your ticker Tom, hope things workout with as little intrusive procedures as possible.

Love all you guys doing yard work - I am doing the opposite digging up the yard. Took me three hours to find the damn distribution box. Not even close to where the plans said it is. Not to code either, found out the contractor back in 2004 that did the work was run out of the county for not following permitting and codes - he submitted one thing and did another and some how got away with it for a few years.

On a positive note the system was clogged due to ice after all - the DB still had a huge ice cube that filled the entire box - it had just started melting down. Going to have to replace the box and re-route some of the drain field pipes to the box. Instead of using a six port box he used a four and caped one so he had paired the field runs into the box with 90 degree elbows into each other so two never would drain, they would get bypassed when the flow was running. It is a frickin mess.

Well off to dig out the pipes and get a new DB - canceled the power snake and washer for now.

Have a great day - be safe

Sorry Tom, always hate any bad news when I do a physical. I think you’ll be just fine. Over 1.5 million Americans currently have pacemakers and live normal long lives. We are so fortunate to be here in America where we have the best medicine the world has ever known. You’ll be bouncing around like an 18 year old in no time.
I’m 72 and been pretty healthy, just a few very minor maladies. Then in Sept. of 2020 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I was fortunate, it was early stages. Had it treated in 12/20 with brachytherapy (radioactive seed implantation). Last saw my oncologist 2 weeks ago and tests show cancer is in remission, is undetectable. I have a 95% that the cancer is “cured”. I thank God for the blessings of modern American medicine.
I like to compare us “mature “ people to automobiles. As cars get older and more miles things start going wrong no matter how well maintained. The suspension wears out and the car starts limping, the starter wears out it’s hard to get it going, the transmission needs surgery, the fuel injectors get clogged and need bypass surgery and on and on. We are the same, as we get older parts break and wear out.
Prior to Covid I use to go to breakfast once a week with a bunch of old retired guys. Anywhere fro 8 to 20+ of us, ages late 50’s to 90. Every single one of them except 2 (a retired police detective and a retired pediatrician and me until the cancer) had significant health impairment histories. I’d say 2/3 of them had diabetes or heart disease or both. Then there was severe arthritis, Parkinson’s, carotid artery stenosis, and it goes on and on. As we get older our bodies break down and parts wear out. But us old guys and gals are tough, we just keep marching on.
Enough of this old people talk. I’m heading out to the yard to finish planting my veggie garden. I love my annual veg garden and will continue as long as I can crawl out and put some seeds in the ground. Be safe all.

I am not too worried. The doctor told me the heartbeat irregularity was in a 5 minute sample. He wants to look at 24 hours.

The mulch is all installed and the pond filters swapped out. There was a lot of pond scum in the filters. Put in new ones and cleaned the old ones. I like the rotating od filter sets. It allows me to get the pond back on line in about 15 minutes than I can take my time to rinse and dry ot the filters for the next filter swap. During this timeI swap the filters every week. I am going to buy some floating plants next week. My submerged plants seemed to make it through the winter. Lots of little fish made it through the winter too. I did see a frog in the pond on Thursday.

My sister is coming over for dinner and bringing my nephews lawnmower for a spark plug replacement. He could not remove the plug. All he had was a cheap wrench with a bar through the two holes. I will have a 1/2 in drive socket with a decent sized ratchet. If that does not work there is always the 1/2 in breaker bar. I also have some PB blaster, nephew did not have that. LOL I will use some anti seize when I install the new plug.
