So I’m gearing up to do the Big 3 upgrade and here’s my plan and materials:

    Big 3 upgrade:
    (2.0 gauge wire)
    Alt + to battery +
    Battery - to frame
    Battery - to engine ground

EWCS 2 Gauge Premium Extra Flexible Welding Cable 600 Volt Combo Pack - Black+Red - 10 Feet of Each Color - Made in The USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0167K7DO2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_80PT6NM3S39ZDMX054JJ?_encoding=UTF8

Fastronix Military Spec Battery Terminal Top Post Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X36RILW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0CWWC1NT0ADG3GWRZFXG

    Charging upgrade:
    Denso 210-0461 alternator
MK3 MINI BLADE 7.5A(might not need with new alternator)

wondering if anyone has feedback or suggestions to improve this? For those have done it, is 10’ of red and black enough?

All pro apex. I have wanted it for several years but i already had a bumper. Adding the winch is what finally caused me to pull the trigger.

It's a sharp looking bumper, I have it as well. Just wish you could run other skids with it besides the All Pro one

Completely agree. Do you have a winch? Placing that solenoid was an absolute pain in the ass. I really should have gotten something i could have relocated it better with. I have it bolted up inside the bumper and it works, but it's less than ideal.

I was searching with the AP designation, and found it, right after I asked the question!! It fits the 1st gen well.

I haven't added a winch yet, on the list... In fact I need to remove the bumper and give it some TLC paint wise, when I do that I'll definitely add the winch then. Installing that bumper by myself was a huge pain in the ass lol.

    I bet it is/was!!
I want Rock Sliders, more than a bumper and/or winch at the moment.

I dig it. Always considered adding all4offroads Toyota rock lights as additional signals in addition to what’s in the corners already. Never pulled the trigger though.

Might as well replace the positive to the starter while you're doing it. They're all in one harness.

I did mine myself just be taking off the stock starter harness and basing it off that. Pretty easy to copy.

Also replaced the engine to firewall ground, but that's probably not at all necessary.

Truck had 4.10s and is an automatic. I’m running just over 32s 255/80r17 (they’re not a full 33) it holds overdrive now on hills and doesn’t hunt for gears on the interstate. RPMs are way up, I think it was near 2500 at 65. Still breaking them in and taking it easy but acceleration is much improved. Pretty sure my fuel mileage has improved but Speedo is off now so I’ll have to run some calculations off the gps. Speedo reads 15 miles over at 65 and because of this it appears to gain about .1-.2 miles per actual mile. Need to read up on how to recalibrate.

I see you’re in WA. I had it done at Just Differentials in Cashmere. Heading home it handled the hills out of Wenatchee like a champ!
