I just bought a 19 taco Trd off-road and this is on my battery and can’t figure out what it is. I hope some can help

 

Not sure, but if I'd have to guess it looks like a gps tracker. Dealership didn't tell you it had one I take it?

 

No and looks like one wire goes to the battery and 3 others ground out

 

Battery tender... look for 2 lines going to the posts .

 

Battery tender is what it looks like, post a photo farther away it must have a plug on it somewhere

Is a battery heating system/battery tender from what I gather, typing "envi systems battery" into the ole Google machine.

Think I’m going to pull it out it looks like it draws 1 power and then grounds the 3 other wires. Tried to draw that on the last picture.

True story, that. I'm afraid to count up how much I've spent on accessories for my Tacoma in the 10 months i've owned it.

 

When you take it out, flip it over and see if there is a model number.

No other marks on it besides that sticker.

Ya looks like snake oil. Now are there things that will help prevent rust yes but this is not it for sure.

 

I was pretty sure it was a BS claim. I dont have a lpt of experience in it, but isnt running electricity throigh metal submerged in water a way to promote rust or patina especially when different types of metal are being used like in a car? So running a constant voltage throigh something to prevent oxidation and rust if some of those parts/wires commonly come into contact with water would kind of be counter productive, right?
