That pontoon boat couldn't get 2 mpg on its best day with a tail wind pushing it down river.

I don't think SeaWorld would approve of the emissions standards on that pontoon boat. Mercury 150hp 2 strokes aren't known for burning clean, none of the 2 strokes are.

Yeah brother work is hard but somebody has to do it. Lol. I took 2 boats out that day. Taking another one possibly two boats out tomorrow. The boat market is still really hot here in So Cal, I'm still waiting for my slow winter season to start, and thank god it hasn't slowed down...

Yup, it was an expensive date.

I just don't trust stock equivalent aftermarket for something like that and the next step up built CVT or Lotus or the like would make the ring and pinion the weak link, it's a lot easier to replace a CV on the trail than a diff.

I played this same game with a 4C LiPo RC car I had, kept twisting axels, got MIP axles, started blowing diffs, RC is expensive enough not playing that game with my daily driver especially when I plan to take it cross country.

Axles weren't as bad as I feared actually. About $300 a piece but after I inspect/rebuild/grease/boot my old ones I'll have 2 OEM spares.

I do. I had a pelfrey one I bought off a member, buy gave it to my friend with an offroad model because he had the correct gas tank straps and I didn't want to mess with getting those, plus it was heavy as shit and I didn't think I needed that much beef there. I'm already very heavy.

    Was looking into this:

    https://trailtoys.net/products/uhmw-gas-tank-skid-plates-2005-plus-tacoma-dcsb-and-access-cab

    Anyone got feedback on it?

You talking about the carrier bearing? Not following on center support.

Photo of the whole thing below. The rear propeller shaft was built from scratch (thicker gage steel, smaller diameter, and longer splines). Got new u-joints all around, but kept the rear/front flanges, carrier bearing, and front propeller shaft. It was built at a driveline shop in my area.

Now to remove the rear drive shaft, all I need to do is disconnect the rear flange and pull it out. I don't need to separate it at the u-joints and carry a u-joint tool to put in a spare; or carry a spare of the entire rear driveline to avoid the pain of u-joint disconnection/connection. I'm going to have him build me a cheaper spare too. To do a trail repair it will be four bolts, pull out, grease, put spare in, four bolts, torque, and done. 20210409_122839.jpg

I have the materials to do it, just not sure if I want these to look pretty and hold a little, or slide easy..
