I was out last year and came across this guy crossing the trail, me and my buddy stopped and got him across, would almost think he was another rock if you weren’t watching lol

Funny that was actually June last year when we found him trying to cross the trail, good to know

At the round lake camp site up at Ardbeg, there’s a 12”-16” snapping turtle that always comes to shore when we’re having a big fire.

Seems he knows the drunken gear heads will give him a feast if he comes around... guess he’s right!

I was up in Killarney on a portage trip with some friends for a bachelor party and our site way out in the park had a massive snapping turtle that would always come out when we had the fire going around dinner time, waiting for scraps to be fed or when we would wash our dishes lol

For those on Facebook I just found a group called Turtle Guardians based out of Haliburton. I always see lots of turtle crossing signs all around the Bancroft area.

Should we feed the turtles? I don't really know what they eat but I assume not hamburgers and whiskey

With out Jeremiah doing 90%, and just teaching me everything. I would be stuck at the sway bar end links not wanting to come free.

    He is the man

'We' got it done in about 5 hours or so.

Just need to re-enforce the rezi mounting brackets tomorrow. :welder:

Like Dax said, 1 bolt from the ARB was in the way for each mount. We just cut a section of the mount out to allow access to head of the bolt.:sawzall:

Jeremiah said he can weld a metal piece onto the weird fancy speed holes the mount comes with, and just re-enforce it.

@tacoma16 @Norilsk so let me ask you guys a weird question. Mine came labeled Left and Right. The industry standard that Jeremiah and I know of says in North America, Left is driver side. Right is passenger.:cookiemonster:

Yet they were opposite of what we thought. The hose lets you know which side they go on, you can not do it wrong.:notsure:

    Were yours labeled?

The best upgrade yet. Like riding on a flying carpet on the way home from the shop:bananadance:

Looks good. Mine were labelled. I used the lca which have a L and a R on them to indicate. Also, it appears based on how they set up the bolt pattern on the top of the shock, that they can only go one way.

glad you like them, I only have a few kms on mine and there is a noticeable difference.

Your best way to know which is left which is right is to measure preload, left has 5mm more pre load. But so far Elkas left on mine and Peters is/was the driver side.

    @weight Yep that’s a snapping turtle.

We have a small and very very threatened population of Wood Turtles in my area. I once found one with a radio transmitter attached that had been missing with no signal for over two years. There are some great secret efforts to help avoid the species from becoming extinct. I have been asked to never share the photos of my discovery.

The best thing going on in Ontario right now there’s so many people are becoming aware of turtle mortality on the roads. Habitat has always been a limiting factor but cars running over turtles Sure hurts many species that need over 10 years to be sexually mature.

If you do find an injured turtle with a chance to survive the organization below in Peterborough does some great work and they have many volunteers driving “turtle taxis” shuttling the injured turtles to Peterborough.

I guess it works kind of like shuttling TACO parts around Ontario by TW members!

    https://ontarioturtle.ca/

turtles are tough and I have seen many with only three legs like this mature painted I got off the road last year by my house.

That will be great if they set mine up wrong. As I said they can only go on one way with the reservoirs. So I didnt measure anything.

Have a look at it, worst case worst you can compress coil on the truck and adjust to a correct preload. On Peters truck I measured passenger side was 30mm and driver 35mm, I cranked mine to 40mm driver and 35 passenger at the beginning knowing how heavy my front end was.

We measured from the adjustable collar to the top.

@llamasmurf I am waiting for everything to settle before I touch anything. So far I’m happy with the height and what not. Rather be lower and what not.

@tacoma16 @Norilsk thanks for the info gents :hattip:

Jeremiah says we can overcome and correct. We will measure all the things and fix only if required.:cookiemonster:
