I hit the section about spindle gussets and got very discouraged. Anyone wanna amp me back up before I just keep skinnies on her?

You gotta amp yourself up cuz you’re gunna have issues when you put them on and you’re going to have to amp yourself up! This tire size requires a lot of work.

I have some. They don't interfere with my wheels but is definitely close. 20210306_132342.jpg

I hear a lot of talk of wear on suspension parts because of weight but my 33in skinnies are 61lbs and the Yoco Geolanders are only 8lbs heavier in 35s. Does it really make that much of a difference at that point?

Besides the negligible wear on suspension, a heavy wheel and tire setup will lower lower your center of gravity, and make your truck feel more stable off-road. My setup weighs 130ish lbs per wheel/tire.
Most people will compare wheel and tire weight but then they don't think about weight when they add a shit ton of weight higher up, increasing their center of gravity and making their truck feel more unstable. Everything is a compromise with how we modify our viechles, whether it's reliability, weight, clearance, ect. Find out what works best for you and weigh the options you have.

I don't think the 8lbs is going to make a difference in your scenario. I'd rather look at tread compounds and tire wear rather than weight.

Huh, never thought about the tire weight helping to lower the center of gravity back down. Makes perfect sense though. I was always hung up on the whole unsprung weight thing, which is a consideration also, but this really does make sense and worth its place in the variables.

Some things are stupid simple but they always get overlooked!

This is with 1.25 spidertrax spacers. Looks like I can go down to 3/4 and still clear the upper control arm 20210409_170300.jpg 20210409_171826.jpg

Just do it! Spindle gussets are no big deal. If you wheel your truck you will need them.

Lots of crawlers run washer fluid in the tire adding 20-30 pounds to help lower the center of gravity.

Yeah after looking into the spindle gussets I don't have a problem with doing it. I think I would do it even if I kept the 33s. I'm worried about long term issues on 35s, higher chance of breaking stuff, etc. This is my only vehicle after all. Yoco Geolandar MTs seem damn light for 35s (69lbs) so that enticing. I also don't wanna be one of those guys that has 35s and only needs them occasionally and by need I mean I could have winched over the same obstacle on 33s. That being said the 35s are already on there way because I have a fat finger when it comes to buying things online :anonymous:

Here’s what I opted to instead of doing a relocation. I haven’t mounted 35s yet but I just found a set of beadlocks for 400 bucks that I’m gonna mount 35s on. We will see what needs to get the hammer when the time comes.:sawzall:

I’ve already ditched my fender liners when I got my snorkel and cut the fenders. I’ve got hella room with my 285s right now. A close friend gave me a relocation kit that he didn’t use so if I need it I’ve got it to fall back on.
