I was honestly thinking this would be a lowkey nice side business if you didn't mind driving! Buy a cheap used truck/trailer combo in the lower 48 then drive it to AK to flip it.

Yup, you're describing Canada's ArriveCAN app, which I'll need to use daily to check in. Supposedly it doesn't track you, but who knows. And I feel you on practice. I'll have at least 300 miles with it if I go to Spokane to pick it up, but I'll practice with it regardless. Maybe even attempt some reversing...

    Haha, you caught me!
Must be the weekly "can my Tacoma pull this 26ft 5,800 lbs (dry) camper, with 2 dogs, and a family of 4, across the country and through the mountains? I already bought it, but still here to ask, in hopes y'all can talk me in to the impossible" type threads burned in my mind :D

As per the Towing Bible of Tacoma World, I suggest setting up aftermarket gauges for displaying automatic transmission fluid temperature. The transmission can get quite hot when towing.
In my case I used the UltraGauge to display transmission torque converter and transmission pan temperatures as you can here here in the bottom left of this gauge display:

This is really cool, thanks for sharing! If I ever tow again, I'll pick this up. Fortunately, I made it up here just fine! An uneventful journey. I just wrote a recap on reddit, was going to post it over here in a sec.
