Seems like a lot for a declining D man. Savard isn't the guy he was 2-3 years ago. I mean you always need extra bodies come playoff time but trading away a first for a 3-4 D seems like a lot.

like all other players C-bus trades, Riley will come to The Leafs and do great; Savard will do great in Tampa, and C-bus will get someone in the first round, and then eventually trade them away too

Nash is a great trade. He's hurt until roughly the playoffs, so the Leafs traded away a 7th and don't have him hit the cap while they have a chance at having a very good upgrade to the 3/4 center position.

 

Not to sound like a broken record but Matthews is just incredible. I think he honestly doesn't get enough credit. Just the little stuff he does is crazy.
