    I recently sold my 2005 Tacoma and found this part on my garage shelf. I had plan on installing it but was able to clean up the connections to my existing fan resistor and therefore never needed it. I ordered the part off
    $18 Allmotorparts HVAC Fan Blower Motor Resistor Kit with Wire Harness 973-582, 87138-04052, 8713804052, RU746, RU1435 Compatible with Toyota - 2005-2020 Toyota Tacoma - Manual AC Control & Oval Connector
    Amazon in January of 2019 so there's no reason to believe it wouldn't still work. I prefer to give it away locally first but if there are no takers will consider shipping within the continental U.S..

    My fan would not work on speed 2 and sometimes 3 but was fine on 1 or 4. I removed the existing HVAC resistor to find out it partially was melted/burned at the connector point. I was able to clean it up and get it working again which I thought would have been a temporary fix. However, it was never an issue since so I left it as-is. I believe there are a number of post on the forum on it that should be readily available via a quick Google search but it's been some time since I looked.
